Unlooping a pedal with a looper / switcher...that's fast and can be done during a song without any latency risk. Changing patches mid song...that's more tricky and I tend to change patches between songs only. That's the physics of digital pedals. Hey...still quicker than a manual dial in across 18 analogue pedals.

Ok thanks - I suspected that was probably the case and as you say, the power of being able to make simultaneous changes to so many pedals outweighs the drawbacks for me. Just wanted to double check I wasn't doing something stupid!

Ok, need some help:

I’ve got an UltraWave Bass, a C4, and a Neuro Hub.

I want to (if this is possible) use my Helix Floor to scroll up/down through presets on each SA pedal separately—I realize this would mean using 4 footswitches on the Helix, which I’m fine with.

I don’t need/want to control parameters, just scroll through presets on each pedal separately. Is this possible, and if so, how the heck do I do it?

Yes, I’m 100% midi-stupid….

I haven’t used a Helix Floor before, but if you set up each pedal to a different midi channel (let’s say C4 on Ch. 1 and Ultrawave on Ch.2) and send the right CC message, you should be able to. If i remember correctly, both pedals are set default to midi CC 106 to increase presents and 107 to decrease but you can change that in the editor.

So two foot switches would be for channel 1 (one that sends midi CC106 and the other 107) and the other 2 would be for channel 2 doing the same thing. I hope that makes sense haha!

I used my Boss MS-3 like that before and now one of my panels on my Soleman.

Ha!! Thank you!! That’s exactly what I was looking for, and it’s doing exactly what I wanted it to do!

Farrin, QQ...I also have a ultrawave, spectrum,neurohub, and microPro for channel switching. I am considering a Helix pedal that supports midi. If I get one do I still need the neurohub and microPro? What advantages does having a neurohub and microPro give? Thanks in advance...I am new to all this :)

You will still need the neuro hub for connectivity. Micro would be easier to use out of the box, but you should be able to program the helix to control the hub and connected pedals. (I have no experience with the helix).

Gang- Does anyone here have a Boss ES-3, ES-5, or ES-8 and can help with a setting?

I’m pretty sure I didn’t imagine this, but I felt as if I could go back into Memory Mode from Manual Mode and NOT send a PC message or change my Manual loop structure. .

I.e. I save a preset to my Hub on PC channel 1, complete with certain loops on in the ES-8. I step on the Memory/Manual button to enter Manual mode and add a loop (pedal). Now, as soon as I go back to Memory Mode via the Memory/Manual foot switch, a PC message is sent, and all of my now loop structure is back to how it originally was before I added the pedal. But what if, while playing, I want to go into a patch and add more drive, then make a change to another entirely different patch? What happens is, the Boss reverts back to my original settings when I hit Memory/Manual, thereby changing the sound, before I can get to the next patch.

Is it possible to return to Memory Mode from Manual Mode without reverting to the original patch settings and keeping the live edited settings until I select an entirely different patch?

I felt like my unit did this fine when I got it. I’ve been menu diving for hours and can’t figure it out. Thanks!

Hmm...when I loaded my app (Android 9 on Samsung Galaxy S8 Note), it said it needed to be connected to the internet (I was). Then under "browse" I only got the six factory presets (which seemed to be different than what was already loaded on the pedal) --- no community presets.

Any thoughts?

I’m using my Helix Floor along with the Hub to scroll through presets on each pedal. Once I followed @Farrin D ’s advice, it was super simple to set up the Helix’s Command Center for each pedal. I wanted separate control of each pedal, so I’m saving presets to each pedal instead of to the Hub itself, but it could be done that way if you only wanted one source for your presets (I think….I’m also new at this, but I’m learning quickly now that I’ve gotten pointed in the right direction)

Hmm…I wonder if in the Ctrl/Assign menu you have the Manual/Memory mode footswitch sending a CC/PC? I can’t remember if you can assign that or not, but that might be a place to check. Since I don’t have my MS-3 anymore I can’t check, but it might be a good starting point.

Note that the Ultrawave is able to use USB-C and give you 2 way communication with the phone. I would ditch the TRS. It is only one way.

I am not sure about what you are seeing with the "no connection" message. @Gibs210 ??

Well I can try the USB connection but it seems to me the issue is in my app with this internet connection business. It wouldn't even let me log out to try to log back in.

I got things to work on my iPad, but that's a lot less convenient for a variety of reasons.

One of the guys who does this all the time should know what is going on. Note that we made a big investment into supporting bi directional over USB to a phone. I thought we were shipping cables with the pedals? Maybe it's only the EQ2? I don't remember.
