Getting the gang back together, these have been sitting on my shelf for too long (except the Atlas, it’s been getting plenty of use). Just need to find all my right angle usb cables I packed away somewhere so I can plug everything into the usb hub. Shorter TRRS cables would be good too, need to track some down. At least it isn’t a big MIDI cable going to each one!

This board, followed by a Meris LVX and Chase Bliss Gen Loss Mk2 will be going into the stereo FX loop on my Quad Cortex.

I might swap out the Gemini for a Spectrum, depending on how satisfied I am with the filters on the LVX. Going to be fun once everything is connected with MIDI again.

I'm sure I'm not the only one out here discovering new things on the Ultrawave. I just realized you can turn off outputs in the Multiband Level Controls by clicking the number at the bottom (#1 is green, the others are greyed out).

Really made for a different fuzz sound that I'm digging.
All of this was inspired by someone mentioning using an LPF after a fuzz. But since the UW LPF seemed to be affecting my clean signal, it wasn't quite giving the results I wanted. So here's a different way to implement an LPF at a different point in the chain (or an HPF if you went the other way).

I'm sure I'm not the only one out here discovering new things on the Ultrawave. I just realized you can turn off outputs in the Multiband Level Controls by clicking the number at the bottom (#1 is green, the others are greyed out).

That is what makes a multi-band distortion so interesting, even more so once you start exploring all the multi band, splitting and distortion options as well as input and output...

Is there a way to do a factory reset on the Soleman? My used unit looks pretty empty but would like to make sure everything is reset.

You can do it on the pedal by press and holding the menu button, then scroll through the options to get to the factory reset.

Yes, so I just have one cable to plug in to use Neuro Desktop with all the pedals.

I like that idea of the centralized USB interface. My solution was to arrange the pedals in such a way that all of the various things with USB interface were readily accessible with ports in proximity to the board edges. That is a tidy way to go. Niftier still is not having to swap cables around to shift between pedals. I am inspired enough to figure out an external harness for the same purpose.

The biggest headache I have with my current board is finding custom length mini angled USB cables, the ones I’m currently using are great, but all the same length and rather long. It’s the biggest contributor to the “rats nest” of wires under my board.

As a separate subject, yesterday I found out what has been creating audio noise / crackling & background chatter when I attach my board to my PC’s USB ports…it was a noisy USB network dongle! Nothing to do with Source Audio at all!

I have also experienced usb generated noise ( especially with the UW).

If there was access to pedal presets and full support of the Ultrawave I'd be able to do that too, would save a lot of hassle. But Source Audio is still ahead of everyone else when it comes to this kind of thing (although Eventide style bluetooth would also be great).

I think it’s star tech that makes 18” long ones, could still be too long for pedals close to the usb hub, but overall has been a good length for a 16” x 24” board in my experience.

Well, it's finished. At least in this configuration. Anymore SA pedals and I'm going to have to get another hub. The Atlas is already going without the hub. Everything is current hooked up to the PC for editing, but once the usb cables are all gone, it will look at least a little cleaner.

Derek, how do you power the usb hub? I notice that it has a wall wart. Do you use that or the cioks?

I use the Cioks. 12V centre positive, easy for the Cioks DC7 to power it.

I posted this in the big board thread but I’d thought I’d share it here since I have so many source audio pedals now.

I have a 13 port usb hub mounted to the top of the board with everything wired up to it for easy editing. 2 signal chains with one running in stereo. The looper is at the beginning of the stereo chain so I can loop and put my bass down and use the editor or do some weird noise knob twiddling during jams.

Which hub are you using? I need a 13 port for my board (9 one series, 2 hubs, and soleman, possibly my airstep if they ever make a desktop editor for it).
