Exactly. I'm still hoping that the SA solution might have a dedicated bypass function that would turn everything off and revert to a clean signal so it wouldn't be necessary to tapdance multiple pedals off or dedicate one or more presets to clean. Pretty please? Lol

You could always save a scene with no pedals on. Might be a good idea to do it every other preset maybe? Dunno, it's up to you, but saving a scene with nothing on is definitely doable
 
I know most people are looking for a pedal-based footswitch solution, but I recently started experimenting with a Samsung tablet in USB host mode (with USB adapter) running into a M-Audio UNO USB-MIDI adapter, using the MIDI Commander Android app. Works fantastic.
Oh man, could you explain more in a detail this? Sound great.
Which program are you using and how do you connect it.

The main way to do this is to create a bypass preset. We making it very easy to engage such a preset.
 
Hey @rsmith601, one more annoying question :D. Was there ever any more discussion on whether or not there might be a future option to swap the firmware between bass and guitar for otherwise equivalent pedals? I.e., Bass OFD vs. Guitar OFD, Manta vs. Stingray, MWD vs. MWBD. I realize it undermines your business model somewhat, but if it was only for bass/guitar switches (as opposed to being able to swap, say, the DR with the Orbital) and was limited to Hub users, then hopefully the impact of getting us "combo" players to not need to choose (thus making us more likely to buy one or the other) would outweigh the downsides.

This will only happen when it comes as a natural part of some other development work, and I can actually see that happening some day. Dedicating special resources to do this now does not make any sense. If you knew what we are working on at the moment, I am certain you would prioritize what we are doing over doing the Bass/Guitar swap. We need to be SOOO careful right now, because the Hub and all of its components are really difficult to get right engineering-wise. Lots of little pieces to the puzzle.

"Yes, there is a way to do this. There is a “favorite” footswitch that lets you instantly jump to a predefined program at any time. Assuming that users set this up in their hub to bypass all connected pedals, then it will effectively act like a master bypass switch.
So it requires the user to have at least one scene in the hub which is set up for all pedals bypassed."

Okay, I have an older model Samsung Galaxy Tab, like this:

It doesn't have a USB port, so I ordered a USB adapter:

This has a female USB A (the regular, largest size of USB) port, so you can plug male USB A into it (flash drives, etc.). Whatever device you have has to support what's called "USB Host Mode," but I think most recent, name-brand models should do that.

I also have a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone, and I've got a "USB OTG" cable on order to do basically the same thing. Like this:

You can then program MIDI Commander to send whatever MIDI Commands you like. It has some limitations, but is still very powerful. For example, when you hit a button in the app it sends a "command," which is on a single channel and can include up to one PC (program change) and two CC (continuous controller) signals at a time, along with some other stuff I don't use (MIDI notes and such). The different buttons can send different commands on different channels. For example, I've got mine set up so that I have a bunch of buttons that send commands to my Pitchfactor on one channel, the other buttons that send commands to my Modfactor on another channel, and then yet more buttons that send commands to my Line6 M5 on yet another channel.

I don't own a Hub yet, but it's on my short list for the future, and it seems to me this setup would give you everything you need and more for the Hub. It would take you a few minutes to program---you would just need to figure out which channel your Hub is on, and then program all the MIDI Commander buttons for PC commands on that channel---super easy but tedious due to repetition. In MIDI Commander you can have up to 32 buttons per "page," and scroll to additional pages. So to get all 128 Hub scenes, you could have four pages of 32 Hub scenes each, with all 128 scenes no more than 4-5 clicks away and 32 only one click away (instead of who knows how many stomps on your MIDI Mouse or similar device). This would also make bypass presets easier, as you could have one on each "page" instead of alternating bypass presets.

The down side, obviously, is real-time, in-song control (you need your fingers to press a button instead of your feet), and having a mobile device wired to your pedalboard (for me, playing with a music stand at church this is not a problem).

With the midi Moose I set the first preset on every bank as a bypass with all effects off. This gives me an easy bypass patch any time I need it.

I promised no more annoying questions, but I hope this one isn't that annoying. For the Hub, would it be possible in the future to have the MIDI channel be on a per-preset basis rather than a global option? For example, if I want to use a HH3 -> Hub and use the Hub to output MIDI to a 3rd party pedal, but I want to do this with multiple pedals on different channels for different scenes. E.g., Hub scenes 1, 7, 10-15, and 28 the HH3 output is on MIDI channel 3; Hub scenes 2-6, 8, 20-27 the HH3 output is on MIDI channel 4; Hub scenes 9 and 16-19 it's on MIDI channel 5. (You could also retain the global option as an override option.)

A Source Audio Synth would be great if it had the capability of also accepting MIDI notes so you could play it with a keyboard or some Taurus/Organ like bass pedals. Even cooler would be if it had like 3 switches and/or knobs more than an SB2 pedal and you turned every knob into a push button/knob combo and could use a special mode where every knob and switch is a note you can play, a full octave, and you could use the Hub Manager to communicate with the pedal and change the Octave rage or maybe even assign specific notes to a fewer amount of switches. Sure the pedal would have to be bigger so simply receiving midi notes would be a better option.

I know, we are starting to sound like needy children.
