Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

It’s been a while since I’ve used mine. I packed all my pedals away a few months ago to focus on some other stuff. Been slowly digging a few out again.

I hate to say it, but I've been in a weird place with playing and music this last 8 months or so. Distracted with work, a move, work (haha) and just getting older and being more tired a lot of the time (probably because of work and needing to take better care of myself). But I haven't had almost any urge to play or jam or write or anything. Kinda sucks. But I can't force it. It's just not there right now. Hope that changes at some point....

We all go through those ups and downs in life that all too often either get in the way or simply suck the pleasure of playing our music so I feel you 100%. I'm going through some borderline major health issues that have me mostly off my creative game, I think about it but just ain't there yet.

I'm just coming out the other side after 3 years of not having the physical or mental space to play at all (also related to work, relationship and house moves). Lots of gear buying and selling to distract me over that time but I finally picked up the bass gave it some proper attention this week... happy to say the inspiration came flooding back. Probably playing better after 3 days of practice than I was 3 years ago

I just bought an Ultrawave which should be here this week. I've spent the past two years playing an old Bass Multiwave and I now use enough sounds, and the want to switch between those sounds, to warrant the new pedal. (Or, at least, that's what I'm telling myself :D .)

The Ultrawave is too deep and that's what's kept me from it until now. But the basic distortions between it and the Multiwave should be the same, and then some. My first order of business is to find sound #15, the first "normal single band" setting. That's "the sound" and it's just a nice thick overdrive/distortion. My octave sound (#3) is cool, but it cuts bass. so I'll need to dial that in. The wacky one is #4, which has envelope and octave at higher gain.

I think the trick will be only dialing in sections. It's always the subtle changes that make things work in the band. Then I can use the community presets for entertaining myself.

Uploading these right? They sound fun

They're going to be the most boring Ultrawave patches you've ever heard. LOL. Seriously, that normal single band setting is probably the first or second distortion sound with no EQ and no pushing of any of the bands.
Well, if someone put that sound in a boutique pedal with fancy paint, it would sell for more than the Ultrawave! :)

So what's coming on tuesday? Do we really gotta wait that long?? :roflmao:
