Gotcha (I think). does that mean that a MIDI switcher connected to the hub cannot control the internal presets of a pedal like the C4 that’s also connected to the hub?
You need to use the aforementioned CC messages, with a value of 0 to 127 to load the preset you want. Might need to give each pedal its own unique midi channel though, to avoid sending the same message to multiple pedals. Also you’ll need to go back and edit your hub scenes so the ID number saved in the scene matches the new midi channel.

Thanks that helps a great deal

This is exactly how I do it.

Hey Guys, i have an issuse with my Soleman an i hope that someone can help me with my problem. I want to send a tap tempo signal from the disaster area foot pedal to the Soleman via a jack cable. I tried different cables and settings, but the devices did not respond. Can someone tell me what cables and settings I need? I have tried stereo mini jack to mono jack and different settings to the CC channel. Thanks in advance!

Solved .-) tryed the Wrong input .-)

Hi all! Quick question, is there a sticky somewhere that might show the power requirements for different SA pedals? Specifically the Manta, Orbital Modulator and the Multiwave Bass distortion? My C4 and Spectrum reference them in the description, bit not the SB2's. I ask I have a CIOKS DC10 and it is powering my board but I'm concerned that I'm not giving everything the right juice as I have a hefty hum when not playing. I'm looking at adding the SB2's on the 100 ma circuits (1 through 4) as the higher draw circuits are spoken for. Thanks!

You can find the exact power requirements in the Specifications section of each pedal's manual - which are online at the SA support site.

Something else to look into is that despite the fact that all power pedals list higher and lower current available on different circuits, that in many cases it's actually only the TOTAL draw that matters. In short, as long as you properly match the voltage (9VDC, 12VDC, etc) and polarity (negative or positive tip) and stay under the total DC draw for the power unit, you're fine. YOU SHOULD VERIFY THIS WITH CIOKS by emailing their support. I've had this confirmed for me in writing by two other power pedal manufacturers.

Thanks for the reply. I did look through my manuals, but missed it the first time. 140ma, so they exceed the output. I might be back to the drawing board for some of my dirt and filter options to meet the max 100 ma draw on the CIOKs. I guess it gives me a reason to branch out and feed my GAS lol

CIOKS does verify that the connections in question are 9v and definitely capable of delivering 100 ma which supports a ton of traditional pedals. I just wasn't sure of max draw on the SB2's. the other 6 channels on my DC 10 can easily feed my One series and other toys.

What I was saying above is that it is likely that the connections labeled 100mA actually do put out more, and that as long as you don't draw more than the CIOKS unit's total mA maximum you'll be fine. CIOKS can verify that for you. I for example, am running two SA pedals that require 180mA off of connections labeled 100mA on my TruTone CS12. In short, if you verify with CIOKS you many be fine with what you've got.

While it is possible that a 100ma output could deliver more, this limitation is quite likely due to the wire rating going between the supply and pedal. It should be printed on the insulation. If you draw more than the rating allows it will overheat and possibly get damaged, in the worst case affecting its surroundings as well.

The Truetone CS supplies are different in this regard than the vast majority of isolated power supplies (which is why they make such a big deal of pointing it out in their marketing for those supplies), particularly older transformer-isolated supplies like the Cioks DC10 he is using are more sensitive than these newer switch-mode power supplies (the Cioks DC7 can handle more than the rated current as well, although only temporarily unlike the Truetone CS). They might be capable of slightly more current than the labeled amount, but not capable of significantly more like those Truetone supplies and over-current with a Cioks can actually trigger that output to shut off by triggering a protection circuit.

I’d be curious what other isolated pedal supply also verified it can be run with higher than stated continuous current loads per output?

The definitive answer based on my current signal chain, direct from CIOKS.

"Well, based on the current needs of your effects, the DC10 is not suitable as you have exceeded it power capacity due to the demands of your effects. If you wanted to maintain using the DC10, you can purchase another power supply such as the SOL for your high mA effects. If you want to totally upgrade your power supply, I would suggest our DC7 plus the Cioks 4 expander giving you 11 isolated outlets that have 660mA available per outlet. That will certainly make your board absolutely quiet. "

My effects are:
Manta Orbital Modulator Multiwave Bass Distortion Each shows a max pull (without the HotHands adaptor) of 140 ma.

the upper outputs run: Source Audio C4 (165ma) Source Audio Spectrum (165ma)

Darkglass Hyper Luminal Comoressor (250ma)

Sushi Box Underground Accelerator (500 ma on start, 250ma after warmup)

The other 3 are (all sub 100 ma) MXR Bass Octave Deluxe MXR DI plus (M80) Peterson Strobostomp All listed in no particular order.

Yeah the DC10 was a supply made when only a fairly small percentage of effects used digital processors that eat up a bunch of current, whereas these days more complex digital processing is very popular and even digital control is super common in analog pedals (like your Hyper Luminal and alot of modern analog delay pedals). Modern SMPS power supplies like the Cioks DC7 (or Cioks-made Eventide PowerMax), the Truetone CS7/CS12, the Strymon supplies, and the newer Fender Engine Room supplies can provide far more current for modern pedals in supplies much more compact and lightweight than ever possible before (I still own a Cioks AC10, brother of the DC10, and its a bulky boat anchor compared to my sleek Cioks DC7 or Truetone CS7 supplies while not offering nearly as much juice).

Forgive my ignorance here, but i am considering a C4 JUST for the octave. Is there a sticky here that is addressed to this? TIA. How simple/difficult is this for a caveman digiphobe like me?
Can maybe save a bit of money getting a Spectrum instead. It has the octaver and filters from the C4. If you think you might want to try some synth stuff go for the C4 though.

C4 does octave REALLY well IMO, probably the thing I use it most for! Tracking is superb and in a full band mix that’s what I’m after. It’s really easy to plug it into your laptop / phone and audition community presets and when you find some (up to six) that you like, add them to the presets that you can access via the pedal’s switches. But yeah if you can go for the C4 because if you ever want to explore really good synths, you can!

Can i run it out of the box without ever using my laptop/phone? Do i have to initiate anything digitally?
