Is it a CC message that needs to be sent? In my setup, I send both PC and CC messages to the hub. The PC selects scenes on the hub which include Aftershock and Gemini. The CC messages select presets on Spectrum, C4 and Ultrawave on their respective channels. All pedals are connected to hub with 3.5mm cables. Controller is connected via midi 5 pin. Hub passes CC messages to their respective pedals. I don't think the hub passes PC messages over the 3.5mm connection? Maybe I'm wrong. Just a thought...

The difference in my set up now is that I only have the C4 in my board, as I am getting all my dirt from the QC. Maybe I'll give it a try using CC messages. The Hub doesn’t pass PC messages, only CC messages, so you either have to send CC messages to control the C4 directly or create scenes and use PC messages like you were doing

If you are still using the hub connected to C4 with 3.5mm cable, selecting a scene via PC message that has the C4 in it should still work. I had trouble with the hub handling the massive amount of parameters in C4 and UW, so I stopped putting those pedals in scenes and used the CC message to select presets saved directly to those pedals. That worked better for me. But, as mentioned before, if the C4 is in a scene on the hub, then it should still work with the PC message. Although, just thought of this, in this case your PC message would need to be sent on the channel your hub is set to, not the C4. Maybe try that?

Not on the C4, but my Godin A4 Ultra fretless has a 13 pin synth-access output that gets me in the ballpark when using instrument modeling in the Roland GR55 pedal (can't recall which instrument model, I just remember getting something like this one time when exploring the options and thought it was pretty cool- will have to revisit that!).

Amazingly enough, it seems to be working fine. I haven't tried to use the app to play with settings or run any tricky I/O, but it seems 100% functional on the right voltage.

Made a new discovery today re: Ultrawave. I tweaked a couple settings on a few presets from the UW preset pack thats available for download. The band liked a couple of the sounds and suggested I do different versions of a track for inspiration etc. But I left wondering, how do I match the sounds to the timing of the song?

And there it was.. the bpm box in the wave shape/rate section! New worlds opened up. Hadn't delved into this feature before. Messing with the rate/shape and then tweaking the effect to 1/2 tempo, 1/4 tempo.. mind blown. Another rabbit hole, lol.. killer feature though, game changer for a few presets I've been trying to incorporate.

I finally got around to exploring Nemesis as generally Collider covers my delay needs. Holy moly, Nemesis does a lot more. Some of the sounds I’m getting are like synth textures in their own right.

Overdrives with analogue circuitry (depending on the parameters of the components) are much more affected by input power / juice. Some simpler designs actually work better with a hot voltage, others just burn and melt. I know certain Muffs and Rats change their dynamics and grit if you over juice them.
Digital devices either work or they don't and usually sound the same as long as their power requirements are met and are in their operatable range.

I just uploaded a handful of nemesis presets a few days ago, plug in an expression pedal and play with some of the helix/double helix patches, it gets pretty whacky. I didn’t enable expression when I uploaded, but I set everything to where it needed to be, just turn on the external control button

If those are the crystals ones, they are great. I downloaded those last night. Only got through the first five pages before I ran out of time. I’ll revisit next week and see what else is out there.

I have a question about accessories for the Spectrum. Apologies if it's already been answered, but I got impatient searching this very long thread!

I would like to add a pedal (or device) that allows me to access to more than 6 presets. But I also want to be able to use an expression pedal, which means that the preset switch needs to be USB (right? Because the expression pedal will use the trrs jack?).

The Spectrum is the only SA or midi pedal I have and am planning to have, so the Neuro Hub seems to be overkill. So what are some recommendations for third party devices (other than the Disaster Area DMC.micro Pro)? The smaller, simpler and cheaper, the better.

What is your issue with the Micro Pro? I think its probably the most reliable/tested/relatively-affordable all-around 1-stop solution for this purpose and the maker is constantly updating it and offering regular help to users with his products. Other than that, some users have had luck with the M-vave Chocolate (the wireless bluetooth also happens to work as the necessary USB Host for the Spectrum), if you want to get the cheapest possible solution that probably also offers little to no user support. Not many other MIDI controllers in this price-range have the built-in USB Host ability that you need to communicate with the Spectrum via USB, so you would need a third device (either a Neuro Hub or the new 1-series MIDI dongle) in between. FWIW, I had one of the larger DMC controllers paired with a C4 and it was ridiculously easy to use with minimal programming necessary for basic preset toggling. I upgraded to a Morningstar controller for more complex control, but the DMC stuff is fantastic for as close to a "plug and play" experience that you'll find for SA pedals IMO since the necessary device MIDI profiles are all in the included firmware already

I don't have an issue with the DMC.micro pro, it's currently the frontrunner, I'm just wondering what other choices there are.

Just to close the loop, I was able to get the C4 to work with the QC using CC messages. Now I just need to get all the presets I use from the scenes to the pedal. Thanks for all your help, you are all great!

What's the concencus on the existing C4 presets? I've watched source Audio videos and I guarantee I'm one of those people who's never gonna figure out this import stuff.
But the German vid on the C4 looked fun and useable for my band.
Is this a user friendly pedal for a dinosaur like me?
