Latest pedalboard config, replaced the TC Helicon H1 vocal harmonizer pedal with Switch 3 for a Voicelive Touch 2 (VLT2) on my mic stand. Running the additional MIDI commands for the VLT2 though the Neuro Hub via the Thru connector out to the VLT2. This is working perfectly. In fact all of the SA gear works consistently and excellent. Considering adding the EQ pedal next.

Recently the DMC.micro PRO did not power up. Luckily it happened during practice and not at a gig. This made me realize I should have a backup DMC.micro PRO and Neuro Hub because if they fail, my automated

MIDI commands for the SA pedals will be useless. I picked up a second one of each unit. The backup DMC was easy to program but not sure about the Neuro Hub. Hence my previous post question. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Is there a quick way to program a copy of a Neuro Hub to create a backup in a second Neuro Hub?
In other words, to make a backup Neuro Hub, is it required to connect all the pedals to the new hub and go through each setup, hitting the save button on the hub each time to recreate a backup of the original Neuro Hub? I'm hoping there is an easier way.

If you’re wanting to backup the hub scenes, then just create a device backup like you would for individual pedals. If your wanting to backup individual pedals, then you need to do so on each pedal.

If I'm using the neurohub, would the soleman allow for me to see the preset names that are on the pedals?

That is, I have Atlas, UW, C4, and Aftershock. On all of those, the presets have names while viewing in the Neuro Editor on my Mac. If I want to create a page/bank/group/saved-setting, can I view the actual names like "002: Cubic Zirconia Bass" and "001: PureOctave", etc. while I look for a preset on a particular pedal? (Perhaps it wouldn't work for Aftershock, but the others?)

(I hope everyone will forgive my laziness, but searching through this thread can be challenging.)

If updating to Mac OS 14.3.1 breaks Neuro Desktop, and some of us a pausing on that update until Neuro is fixed, would it be possible for Source Audio to put a warning on their Neuro download page? A heads up to say either pause on that Mac OS update, or a reassurance that a fix is on the way. I think more users than me would also appreciate if that editors & Firmware page showed release dates. That's an easier way to know if we're up to date than having to try to remember version numbers.

Any advice for running the C4 as a sweepable low pass filter?

I've got an expression pedal hooked up with the neuro hub. I'm having trouble finding a setting where it's completely closed/silent with the toe down and completely open (no filtering) with the toe up/frequency at the max. Seems like even with freq all the way up the filters are still filtering more than I want. I have envelope turned off as well.

Two things:

Make sure you’ve calibrated the pedal in the desktop app.

The C4 filters cap at 6 kHz, which is pretty low so there is always a fair bit of high end missing. (This frequent complaint has been taken onboard by SA.)

I recently downloaded and have been going through the Nemesis ADT preset package on my OG Nemesis, and it got me thinking, will SA create similar “curated” preset lists for other pedals like the C4, Multiwave, Collider, etc.? I am one of those users that likes to use existing settings and don’t really make a lot of my own. While the Neuro cloud user presets are a great resource, there is a lot of bad mixed in with the few greats.

One of the foot-switches on it had rotated so that its solder tab shorted against the case. I emailed Disaster Area Designs regarding the issue and they got back to me immediately saying they would be applying heat shrink to the foot-switch solder tabs in production right away. They offered to fix mine but I deferred as the insulating tape I added to the case inside should suffice. Nice to see they are a very responsive company like Source Audio is.

The search in Neuro works well for the terms you used asking the questions. Also try "qm" and "GMC" . Spectrum presets work too

Not that I'm aware of but that's a very interesting proposition. Especially if one were to run two filters in parallel, simulating the two low pass filters in the preamp. Obviously the results would be different with a mono in than filtering each pickup independently.

I believe the EQ2 has a HPF but not a LPF (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Then there's the Spectrum/C4 - can one set the filter to be static and not follow the dynamics of the note envelope, and tie the corner to an expression pedal to simulate the preamp control? Or would this basically end up being a wah?

I don't own these particular pedals so I can't try it myself. Just trying to think it through...

You could probably get close with the EQ2 or Ultrawave I would of thought. Two absolute tone sculpting beast's.

The EQ2 does have LPF.

Just to expand on this slightly. The EQ2 with older firmware had a separate, input HPF with not much range. Later firmware increased the upward range of the input HPF to 250 Hz. They also added a mode to Band 10, so it could be either a peak (peak/notch), a shelf, or an LPF-- all fully sweepable. In short, make sure it has latest firmware.

I just went to the Source Audio site and read this:
"*Note issues with macOS 14 (Sonoma) have been resolved remotely, no application update necessary"

So those of us pausing on installing Sonoma updates (~early 2024, 14.X) for this particular reason might be ok to proceed.

Side rant: I suppose it has always been the case that installing OS updates will break things. What is relatively recent is how difficult Apple makes it to revert when $#!+ goes pear shaped.
