I am building 2 pedalboard....the first one is very very small. Tonex one to handle amp , cabs delay modulation and reverb. So I've decided to add a C4 for covering Octaver, envelope filters , drive and obviously sinth sounds. The question is about midi...I've bought a Luminite Graviton M1 with a six switch. A Pirate Midi Polar Plus allows the Midi control on the Tonex ( magic little box ) so I am thinking about how to Midi control the C4 . SA MIDI adapter or USB MIDI connection to the USB Host port of the Graviton ?? Expression pedal direct in the C4 or in the Graviton ? PC and CC possible or only PC ?

This is for the small board.... but I will turn 60 next month and I would like to make me a nice gift and building a bigger pedalboard. Wireless, Ampero Stompbox II , Tonex, 2 OC5 , C4, Atlas and Graviton M1+ 10 buttons switchers.

Do I need two SA MIDI ADAPTER for the C4 and the Atlas ?

Get a MIDI host box like a CME, 50 bucks. Then just use mini USB to connect to the this MIDI host box Before you do that set the MIDI channel separate for each SA pedal. Basically with the MIDI host boc, instead of MIDI adapters which are 40 bucks each, they get MIDI information in and out using USB over MIDI instead of those ADAPTORSD which can get expensive very fast. The CME can handle eight USB MIDI devices and the second one after it that can also b upfraded with a Bluetooth module can handle 16. and then there is Bluetooth over MIDI and a nice app called TouchOSC which works on phones and tablets to control anything via MIDI with virtual knobs and switches

I am building my system slowly . To me the Neuro hub is limited and the adaptor aside from being expensive and MIDI cables are bulky. Right angle USB cables are low profile as well. I think they are okay if you only need to control 1 - 2 pedals, I have 8 SA pedals and a few more from other companies.

The Ampero control is a pretty good MDI pedal. But your choice of buttons and knobs is unlimited once you have a MIDI host (which is also a MIDI router). You can get a 25 key MIDI controller which usually comes with 8 buttons and another eight pads and the keyboard is also another 25 switches

So I was just thinking earlier this morning about how I’d hate for my wallet and future spending plans to be decimated by future SA releases of existing One Series type pedals in the new ‘upgraded’ format à la the Artifakt, and what do I see on my Instagram fee but a possible new drive pedal in this format?

Am I going to have to reconsider my Aftershock’s place on my board now?

The vertigo did not have beat divisions - also can only do 3 presets on pedal vs 16 here.
The Ventris although a monstrous reverb, does not have slapback and tank reverb although the outboard spring could be what the Ventirs equivalent - If it is the equivalent it is not available choice on the front panel. You need neuro.

You are basically stuck with the routing of physical pedals (have to manually re-route ) , Here you can change from tremolo to reverb or reverb to tremolo. Makes a lot of difference.

I think the closest is the True Spring because there is actually a tremolo in the True-Spring but you cannot adjust it from the front aqnd I think the reverb-tremolo routing is fixed unless you re-assign but then you would loose it

Traditional 5 pin MIDI support , - although for me, I actually use the USB to MIDI by using a $45 MIDI host box. Less bulky cabling and cheaper USBA to USB Mini .

I think this one is more useable and the early reviewers like the sound better. It sounds like that to me as well. We need to apply to be Beta testers :D

Not available on Neuro yet to look at the inner controls but here is the True Spring

I’ve been playing with Pathways for the last couple of days; it’s fantastic. Probably something I’ll use on bass only sparingly but on synth bass and keys it should get plenty of use. Really immediate and hands-on with lots of nice variation possible from the panel controls. There are some interesting deeper options within the app without the danger of option paralysis that some of the more feature-rich pedals may cause some people. This one works very nicely in the mobile app.

I’ve never tried the Vertigo before as I didn’t think I’d be that interested in tremolo but Pathways has made me see the light.

(Would love to see a revamped Lunar/Gemini/Mercury combo in this format with all that panel access to parameters.)

The current tube amps I use have tremolo of source. Frenzel and Deluxe Reverb. I also have an outboard with a tube handmade by a local guy that I plug in to my Mesa combo. Still this is interesting and hopefully sells a lot. It will be great if it self oscillate or grind if pushed -- I am talking about the outboard tank and tremolo.

Also firmware idea, on the spring rather than do a freeze can you guys model a combo amp being bumped into even if is expression driven.

I just upgraded to the latest version of Nuero3. First thing I noticed was the tracking needed to be adjusted on most of my C4 settings. I'm looking forward to create some new scenes and adjusting existing ones since I think I'll be getting a more accurate and consistent performance from my SA pedals.

Soleman midi switcher question

I just got one hooked up with a hub and C4. I got it to switch up and down through the list of presets, but is there an easy way to have each button be a specific preset rather than going through a list? Bonus if you can switch to another 4 somehow or if you can make it bypassed with nothing pressed and then press to activate a preset.

You have to use it in panel mode

For that you need either the windows or mac version of the Soleman editor, You also need the MIDI implementation chart of the C4.

Because it can do maacros, You can just more than selecting a preset and turning it on on or off . Here is the manual and here is their video on it





I have removed the Neuro Hub and use a MIDI host box instead and use short USB cables instead

Hej

I need some help with my Neuro Hub setup. It is the first time I am setting up a Midi setup like this so complete newbie here.

I have Aftershock, C4 and Atlas, which are connected to Neuro Hub which in turn is connected to Disaster Area DMC4 Gen2 midi controller

On Neuro App I can see my pedals and can edit them/save scenes. If I change between scenes on the app, it works fine.

But lets say the Midi controller is at Preset 1 when I save the scene. When I use the midi controller to move back to P1, it doesn't seem to have remembered previous setting.

Also If I use the Save button (hold down for few sec) on the Neuro Hub, I do not see any changes on the app.

What am I doing wrong? Help would be appreciated

I do believe you need to send a PC to the Hub directly prior to saving the scene, to tell the Hub which slot to go to. The Hub is reactive, not proactive, it's not going to be able to read back which program your MIDI controller boots up on.

With regard to not seeing changes, do all 3 of your connected pedals give a brief flash of their small Control LEDs when you tap the Scan button on the Hub?
