Source Audio Sourcerers Society (S.A.S.S.) Pt 2

Alright, so with the HUB I need to use a midi switcher like Tech 21's Mouse, right? I know I could use a computer with usb, but that would be clunky on a touring pedalboard.

What are the other popular small-format foot controllers for this sort of thing? I'm waiting on an OFD to arrive next week & then along with my Dimension Verb and Programmable eq, I may consider midi presets and reconfigure my whole board...

...OR would this bad boy replace my tb loop strip as well as giving me control over the HUB? I've demo'd Decible Eleven's Pedal Pallette & it was top notch! (Not to mention their power supplies which kill the PP2+ for added current and better noise shielding, btw.)

TBH I'm not sure if the Switch Dr. could be the only controller you need but it looks like it to me. Someone else with more knowledge about this will chime in I'm sure. I have the Midimouse but now I'm actually considering getting it, Switch Dr., and the Hot Stone deluxe.

I have learned 2 things so far:

1) One Hub was actually delivered to a customer yesterday. All others are still in transit. I guess you are the official first customer to get a production Hub!
2) Rago (our PC/Mac app guy) ran into some very unexpected installer program bugs yesterday, so he and Jesse we not able to make the software download link public. Jesse it hoping that this will be resolved and posted later today.

While I know that only one single customer is being impacted, I still want to make our Source Audio friend in Yonkers happy and in the land of Hub!

I will keep you updated as I learn more.

I'm #1!!! I'm #1!!!

As frustrated as I was/am I do understand and realize these things happen. I wasn't expecting to have this until next week so I'm not worried about it. You guys have earned business with great products and great customer service. I didn't think for a second this wouldn't be resolved efficiently and with class.
It's all good!!! Expect a pm about the SA160 cable though. I have 4 pedals and only 3 cables.

Waldo, you are good to go, buddy. I just installed it on my PC and it worked fine. Hope it does for you too. You will be Hubbing soon!

Hubba Hubba!!!

Yes the HUB manager software is currently available and very easy to use. I've never delved into the MIDI world before since it just seemed very confusing and in depth to me. I've been eager to get the HUB and set it up and TBH it doesn't disappoint!!! There is zero noise clicking between scenes and its awesome to have totally different sounds utilizing different combos that would be impossible to stomp.
I'm very excited and I can't wait to receive additional cables to be able to integrate the OFD to the fold. I'm currently creating some different scenes with the Manta, Orbital and the Dimension reverb.
Now my impatience can shift to other things like an octave/synth pedal...

If anyone is considering getting the HUB and are on the fence whether to get one or not. I would suggest you get it! It's everything its been cracked up to be!!!

When you add the OFD to the Hub note any currently saved Scenes won't have any knowledge of what state the OFD should be in.

For example, if Scene 1 is just for Reverb. You then connect the OFD sensor cable and leave the OFD on (not bypassed) then change to Scene 1, both the Reverb and OFD will be on since Scene 1 was not saved with the OFD in the picture, so it will leave it alone and in whatever state you have the OFD set to.

To overcome this issue, re-save any of your scenes by putting the OFD into bypass (pedal off), then cycle through your scenes and re-save them. The scenes will then remember the state of the OFD (bypassed in this case).

You'll be happy to know that you can unplug / replug the sensor cables in whatever order you want and the Scene will correctly handle the pedals even if you don't plug them back into the same physical port on the Hub.

I'm hoping this is helpful and well written enough not to be confusing.

Not confusing at all. I did think of this after creating a few scenes. I didn't go crazy with it(yet). Once I have the additional SA160 cable I'm going to redo all my scenes and really get out of hand with it. It is good to know that I can plug the cables in any order without any issues.

Just got an OFD & have been working with it for a few hours today.

WOW!

Once again, Source Audio has demonstrated that digital doesn't have to sound 'digital'! What a great, extremely flexible dirt box. It only took me minutes to dial in my favorite Fulltone Bass-Drive through X-Blender sound.

I haven't used it in a band context yet, but I will this week. Initial indications are good though!

I set up a TS9000 setting that emulates my Bass-Drive blended sound on preset 1. Preset 2 has the Big Pi model with some extra midrange. Morphing between the 2 works surprisingly well! No huge volume difference or bass punch change, but the crunch quality increases and the nastiness as I morph over to preset 2. It really works!

I'm excited about the possibilities & amazed at the quality of tone. It's not sterile, hollow or 'glitchy' at all! I reserve final judgement for in-context band work, but right now I'm excited!

I might actually be able to free up space on my board by replacing the Fulltone/Xotic combo! We'll see,.. I love what that combo does.

I'm doing a week and a half in Japan later this month. I plan on putting together an almost all Source board that's more compact than my Stateside studio board. Turbo Tuner > S.A. Programmable EQ > Aguilar Octamizer > S.A. OFD > S.A. Dimension 'Verb

Source Audio has this digital thing figured out! Now we need a delay and octaver from them!

I'm thoroughly impressed with the OFD. Like floored really. It sounds so good.

Yesterday at a gig I was using my SA expression pedal with my multiwave bass distortion 2 and the pedal would turn off by itself. It only turned off when I was using the expression pedal. It did stay on when I didn't use the expression pedal. I unplugged the power and checked all the cables and still had the same problem. Has anyone had the is problem? How do I fix this?
