Source Audio Sourcerers Society (S.A.S.S.) Pt 2

This is all getting crazy!! I such a good way. I had some of the early SA stuffis, but I didn't jive. Picked up an Orbital and Manta and Hot Corn that is good. Now Midi, which is Greek to me, is on my radar...........

anybody have experience with this Invalid Link Removed

You want the Dimension Reverb right away. It's that good and you'll want it to get your scenes right the first time. It might be a couple of months for me with midi but I see that coming. I need an OFD and a Manta next. I don't really really see the need for a Manta right now, but I said that before I got the Dim Rev and my Multi Dist. I need to spend more time getting more tones and figuring out ALL of the different parameters with what I have before diving deeper and having more stuff I'm limited in its use. Same for the HH3 and to some extent the Exp Pedal. I keep rereading the destructions over and over again and I'm getting the feeling I've really barely scratched the surface of possibilities.

That said, it would be cool to have video of setting the different values for HH3 and EP for the different Pedals, kind of like a video instruction book because each pedal is quite different as far where and what you get with each of the accessories.

I sold my Nimbus before I got the Dimension. I figured the way SA's been nailing the filters, modulation and distortions that it, the Dimension, would at the very least be more versatile. The Nimbus is a great reverb for bass and so is the Dimension. They both can control how much reverb is applied to the bass frequencies which, imo, raises the bar of both units. If you need/want versatility then the Dimension will work better. If you need a room type reverb the Nimbus will work very well for that.

Yeah, I like the Nimbus, I have one right now. I just might want something more flexible. Maybe I'll get a dimension in a couple of weeks and decide which one I want or just keep both.

Well, flexibility and versatility is, in my opinion, what Source Audio does best. The Dimension Reverb is no exception. So many (useful) parameters there for you to adjust.

I think I will order the Dimension if I can get it to fit on the board once I add the hub and dual expression pedal. I just need to make sure I can fit it all in a reasonable fashion. I don't really want to remove more stuff once the B3 goes (and Nimbus if I get the Dimension).

I thought I was done for a while after the 4096 I'm getting and hopefully a bass whammy. But as soon as my bass drive sells, I'm grabbing and OFD. I'm half tempted to put my rat king on the block too. I don't think I would regret it in the long run, but I think I'd miss it a little. The fact that I don't use it that much has me leaning towards selling. Especially when I get my XD1 back.

If you get the Hub or just use one of the two presets for it, there is an El Raton model on the OFD which I like a lot. I've never owned a Rat to compare but potentially you could still have your rat flavor available at a quick stomp.

If you want to be on the safe side, you might want to try doing a RK for RT+cash. I love the RK because I keep one setting as high gain, one as low gain. Not sure I will use it much for low gain anymore with the OFD. So, one distortion would be enough. However, I like that pedal and it still fits on my board :)
