A great interview with Nathan from NAMM here that has some details on Dubstep Wobble techniques, etc. Check it out!

Can someone help me make sense of his board and chain? Im not a huge pedal guy, but I can usually make some sort of sense out of it. But what gets me is he's going from synth to BEF and pitchshifter. But he has that other pedal too that sends the expression to the pitchshifter and the HH controls it.

Can someone make sense of that for me?

What are you trying to make sense of? Seems like you got it...

The expression controls the wobbles as he demonstrates.

The location of the MIDI-EXP in the signal chain is pretty inconsequential as it's just a controller.

THe MIDI-EXP is creating a control signal from the Hot Hand. Most of the time is is being used to modulate the filter sweep on the BEF Pro. In one part of the demo he switches it to control the pitch on the Boss pedal, but that is used only to create the dramitic pitch bend with Hot Hand.

Note that the Hot Hand is plugged into the BEF pro, but then the "sensor out" signal is then routed over to the MIDI Exp, which then creates the EXP signal to drive the Boss pedal when it is used.

The synth, the Multiwave and the BEF Pro are the 3 key pedals he uses to get the wobbles.

Well I wasnt understanding how he had the HH controlling both the pitch shift and the BEF.

rsmith601 cleared it up for the most part. But what Im not quite getting is how does he have that hooked up so that the HH is still active but the pitchshifter is being controlled? I thought I saw a few aux cables, but there is only the one aux input on the BEF for the HH. Or is there two on the pro?

Sorry if this is a basic and easy setup for y'all. I havent ever gotten too deep into the effects pool so I dont quite understand how the BEF is controlling the others.

The HH signal is daisy chained to the BEF and the MIDI-EXP so there is the option to control one, or both of the pedals with the HH, depends on if you have it activated on the BEF or MIDI-EXP. The BEF is not controlling the Boss pedal, the MIDI-EXP is. The MIDI-EXP is a way to use the HH on non-SA pedals.

I was just thinking this weekend about setting up a preset morph to turn the HH on and off. These pedals are really fun, lots of options.

So I got the BEF Pro in the mail today. Great pedal. However, my presets won't seem to save. I'll change settings, hold down the preset button, it will blink then go back to steady. But if I switch presets or bypass and go back, the settings have gone back to default. I've tried it will all three switches/banks, different power supplies, and rebooted the pedal a few times (including resetting factory settings). Any suggestions. Really frustrating...

Very strange. I am checking with the other guys on this and will send a PM to get more details. One way or the other we will fix you up!

Looking at the Q-tron schematic...
Our best choice for the low pass would be Selector #2, with the Back Page Q adjusted to taste. (The Q-tron has an adjustable Q.)

Big thanks again, this worked really well. Not sure how close it is to an actual real Q-tron because I have never used one, but the sound is what I was aiming for and worked really well in band practises.

Great pedal :)
