I picked up a pair of SA pedals in December, the Multiwave Bass Distortion Pro and Bass Envelope Filter Pro. Both are great pedals, but I'd like to be able to do some modulation using a good expression pedal or hot hand.

I requested a free hot hand in December using my free voucher code and have yet to receive anything. I'm still interested in the new SA expression pedal too.

Quick question for any SA folks: The expression out of the Wah Filter-If I say run that to a BEFPro and have an expression pedal hooked to the Wah Filter, will it control expression for both pedals, or is the expression out only for Hot Hand control? Hope that makes sense.

Yes it will control both pedals. The Expression IN signal on the Hot Hand Wah is summed in with the Hot Hand signal that is then sent through the expression out.

Will I be able to power my Pro Multiwave Bass Distortion with my One Spot power supply like I do with the other pedals on my board?

I know one of the regular 9v outs from my PP2+ will power my SA Pro pedals fine, so I would think a 1 Spot would be OK, but maybe someone else can chime in will a more definitive answer. I do know that worst case if the 1 Spot doesn't work, the Pro pedals ship with a wall wort.

I thought the MWBD pro drew more than 100 mA? I believe I read somewhere that it's at around 150mA - anyone have a precise figure?

I'm powering mine off one of the 250 mA outputs on a PP2+, but if I could free that up I gladly would...

I've heard that as well, but they seem to run off 100mA just fine.

I got my BEF Pro back from SA headquarters today! Now the bypass works as it should! YAY! I don't think I'll have enough time to mess with it to gig it this weekend, but it'll be on my board next weekend for sure.

The MWBD Pro and wireless hot hand that I ordered are on back order, 14-30 days. Poop

The MWBD Pro manual does have this to say:

"To power the unit, connect the included DC adapter power supply to the 9V DC jack (A) on the back panel. Note: Using a different supply could damage the unit and void the warranty."

The One Spot is a 9v adapter which claims it can handle up to 1700mA altogether. I'm planning to run four to five other pedals on the board besides the MWBD.

And I have no idea where that leaves me except to cross my fingers, try it..and if it doesn't work use the included adapter.

It sure would be nice to have someone here say that they've been doing this for months with no problems. Anyone?

It'll be at least a week before my MWBD arrives, but I gotta say this: I have never, ever wanted a distortion pedal for bass until I heard this one. A little overdrive in my DI box, fine. I can dig it. But fuzz? No. Full-on distortion? Never liked it. Until this one. I cannot wait to get this puppy on the board.

Man, I feel the same way. A little overdrive is fine, of course. I am having a blast playing with the multiwave. It's actually got me out of a rut, the sounds it produces have made me approach the bass in a new direction.

Sorry for the delay in getting to this, but I was meeting with Analog Devices who make the key audio chips in our pedals!

So, the Pro is ACTUALLY a bit lower in power than the original Soundblox 1. The DSP chip is a newer generation and less power. The pedal ranges between probably 100ma and maybe 120ma. Keep in mind that if and when you plug in the wireless Hot Hand receiver you are going to pull another 30-40ma on top of that.

You will not do any damage if you run out of current and the voltage drops. It might get noisy and it might turn off, but it will not hurt anything. I think you will be fine with the One Spot.

At NAMM we do pedal boards and plug all kinds of stuff in the power source. It usually works out fine.

If you get into any noise issues, let us know and we can work it out!
