Hi guys, @bassbrad
@GMC @rsmith601
Had a bit of time to dabble with creating own presets. Really enjoying it, some early results are a bit meh, but improving bit by bit.
Could anyone kindly help clarify my (somewhat naive) thinking / approach, to utilising morph & the 2 channels?
As I understand, Morphing can be facilitated either using envelop, LFO (or both), or an external footpedal. I'm still not clear in my mind what exactly happens with morphing though....Source Audio website says "With the Ultrawave's Morph function, it is possible to smoothly transition between two different drive sounds". So the transition is carried out via settings on the LFO and/or envelop, so its an active oscillation? a rhythmic wave effect, pulse?
Its just its hard to tell on some patches, with the distortion.
A foot pedal give you the morph control to physically switch from 1 distortion type to the other, or 'mirge' between. So does that morph (or mirge) sound different from a pulsing LFO?
Can you utilse say the envelop WITHOUT morphing ie just 1 drive/clean sound?
Then you can run two channels and select mix options with the Channel balance. But will this enhancement to the sound be noticeable without a stereo set up? I dont currently have a stereo set up. I dont seem to detect stereo via my headphones from my amp....From what Ive read, you can have 2 outputs from a stereo pedal running into 2 separate amps. Is there another way to enjoy stereo benefits without a second amp? eg 2 cable into 2 mixer channels or via an audio interface into a DAW. Any other ways?
I get quite a bad level of noise in headphones with the mono > stereo > mono? Noisegate silences it in gaps but it sort of crescendos over playing a long note...? Is this to be expected?
The manual states "The LFO utilized by the Ultrawave's multi-tremolo can be either a sine wave or a user-defined "Attack/Release" wave. (The single tremolo uses a standard sine wave only.)" Does this mean that the LFO is only 'active' when the Multi Tremolo is on? Or is this a 2nd LFO going on? Then there's the single tremolo, with rate controlled by same knob as multiband tremolo...... Sorry, get muddled here!
If anyone has the time or inclination to try and clarify my thinking, or give me some pointers, that would be fantastic/hugely appreciated - thanks !!
