Source Audio UltraWave ~ Catch the Wave

Just bought the ultrawave on impulse and not yet read the whole thread.

I'd just never found an OD that I liked and excited about the potential to delve into the synthy OD soundscapes with this pedal.....

My main concern is how handy is it, when used in live gigs?
Am I correct that with the 3 way toggle switch and holding down the footswitch, you can access 9 presets?
Without any screen on the device, how do you know which patch is selected?

There is the phone app, but no Bluetooth for switching patches, is there? So has to be cabled?

Thanks for any feedback!

Only 6 presets. At least on the Spectrum. Push the little button on the back and rock the switch on pedal. When the light is red you are in the second bank of three presets. It is a bit fiddly but it works.

In the preset mode you can access 6 presets 3 green + 3 red. You can change banks by several methods, using the button on the back or by holding down the foot switch for several seconds, there is an option for either a long press or short press. Both of those functions are on the Options page and are global settings.

You can use a Bluetooth receiver with Source Audio pedals as @rsmith601 shows. Any Bluetooth will work using the cable in the SA box.

Hey thanks! much appreciated

The pedal arrives next week and since my OP, I have read the manual!
Things should become clearer, when I've plugged into Neuro

Download the app for your phone and computer, create an account. You can begin looking at the Neuro control panels before you even get the pedal, they are a bit different on the pc or phone.

Source Audio pedals can be come an addiction and the community of user creators is great.

The pedal arrived today, 2 days early - yay!!

I said to myself, its important to be methodical with all these parameters and permutations.....build things up gradually..... Find something that fits with the band..... Don't go charging about like a kid in a sweet shop.....

4+ hours later, I've been doing just that!! Stuffed myself with candy :roflmao::roflmao:

Lot of fun though :bassist:

Hi guys,

newbie dumb questions with the software:

With Neuro editor, how best to bulk save a load of presets? Ctrl /shift (pc) doesnt seem to work to select a group to export to laptop? I've saved 40 odd patches from cloud and just want to keep them on pc. I only seem to be able to export one by one?

If I then right click/erase on say patch 1(circle), patched is now 'empty', but all the settings remain as per the erased patch.....how do I quickly clear these? I can only see a 'reset to defaults' on the distortion controls section

Also, its a bit annoying you cant just drag n drop a patch between numbers on the device, to rearrange the order....am i being thick, is there a better/quicker way to shuffle the numbered list of presets stored on the pedal?

V grateful for any clarity on above !! :)

Do a device backup of the hold pedal, if they’re saved to the pedal than all of the data will be backed up to a file on your computer (including global settings in the options menu).

Thanks! I did do a back up but didn't check the contents.

Do you have any advice on the other qq about using the software? No overall 'return to defaults' button, to empty a patch, for example?

One thing to keep in mind. Most of the software we use each day (including the engine behind Talkbass) is created by huge teams of engineers and used by millions. The Neuro software is created by a small team and supported across 4 platforms and used by a relatively small community. We try our best to make it awesome, but it is never going to be at the same level of sophistication as something used by millions of users.

With that said, we are always trying to make it better and better! :)

Thanks. I appreciate that the budget for software is going to be limited to a degree. I'm familiar with other audio devices. It's just knowing/accepting the limitations, to be able to use it efficiently. I don't mean to be over critical.

The ultrawave is a great product. I'm trying to assess it's ease of use, over several patches, in a live band scenario. I have to make a call whether to keep or return the pedal, within 14 days.
The hub looks like the answer. And an expression pedal. Need to save for those.....
