Source Audio UltraWave ~ Catch the Wave

Seems like I can set it that way, but it doesn't seem to work that way if the routing option is mono in / stereo out. If it's on mono in, still appears to trigger the envelope from in 1. I may be talking nonsense, let me check again...

Thing is, if I use stereo in, then I get my 2nd channel out the other end which I don't want.

This principle works like a charm in the C4.
You’ll need to set the processor balance so that it’s going to the other output likely.

Agree with Gibs. There must be a way to do this. I would start with the balance and go hard to CH1. See what happens. Otherwise, you can try to set the level in CH2 to zero using the level block, such as setting up a clean single band distortion and making the level zero. Given all of the flexibility here, there must be a way!!!

I've verified this behaviour. When using Stereo In/Out, setting the envelope to Input 2 works as expected. But when set to Mono->Stereo it doesn't matter which input is selected, only Input 1 is used for the envelope.

Thank you! Can you think of any way to get what @foldyman is after? Its easy to get Input 1 to Output 1 using only ENV from Input 1, but I cant think about how to get input 1 to both channels on the outputs.

Just to clarify, t's neither a big deal nor a criticism!

It's great to be able to do it on the C4 as I have that after the UW, so the UW can make a (delightful) mess of things and I can still trigger the C4 envelope in a consistent way.

It's less important going into the UW as that's only an octave which is a bit more predictable.

Gigged the ultrawave last night, and I'm a convert!

I had the usual patch level issues I always have with the one series pedals in preset mode (user issue though, not the pedal... I've been the same with anything that's preset based with volume jumps etc), but aside from that, the mastotron style patch on the community was monstrous! Worth the price of admission on it's own, but I found a compression/drive patch too that I used a lot more than I should have.

Looking forward to sussing out the editor and coming up with my own stuff!

Got the ultrawide recently and now I do not have to have share with the guitar pedalboard. I now have a smaller one with Ultrawave, Spectrum, Zoom multistomp for time based (too much coin to get a Collider) and a preamp DI (I switch around with any of the ff: Nux, Ampeg classic + Radial and Headway HB2 - I used the NUX for practice)

Ultrawave performs the Aftershock/LA Lady duties and more, a few "quasi synthy" stuff that I like in the C4 and the compressor duties that the Atlas does, adequate EQ duties from the EQ2 and it has the tremolo which in some cases does faux sequencer that you get from the C4. I pair it with the Spectrum that does both Filter Envelopes, Octaver and Phaser filtering. For time based I make it do the zoom that does delay, reverb, chorus and still have the H9 as well but currently it's on my keyboard setup

I have not been able to tame the UW yet...

In what way?
The UW can be a mysterious unpredictable beast.... Any particular bits about it causing confusion?
Billyears,
Probably mostly has to do with time. There is a lot to the UW, lots going on with the UW menu which I do not quite understand. I can stumble upon some cool sounds but I am not at the point where I can purposefully dial-in a sound. I am sure i can get my arms around it but have not devoted enough time to it me thinks.....

I know what you mean. Similar. I struggle to set out with a preconceived idea and then implement it with the controls.
Having a simple line playing on a looper (with GT-1B), frees up both hands to tweak stuff more readily for 'exploration' purposes. Sometimes find something cool, sometimes spend ages not achieving much.

Rather than 'being creative' with quirky synthy sounds, I now tend to use the UW as a sort of versatile 'toolbox'. So eq boost, comp, OD, etc at end of pedal chain. Can just make GT-1B and some C4 presets/cab/amp sims sound punchier, better defined, deeper etc.

All the best!

The ultrawave is awesome and it has become the heart of my rig, no matter what bass or amp I'm using. Always on, just little adjustments here and there when needed, presets for different bands/projects. Comp/dirt/eq. That and a tuner is 95% of every gig I do.

Is it possible, or could it be possible, to switch up the long press of the footswitch to power the pedal on/off and the short click for quick bank switch?

This way I could have my core tone and compressor settings AND use the pedal as a normal dirt box (without adding something like the dual expression or the tap switch).

Not possible unfortunately.

That would be a great idea if it could do that, even more functionality with just the single pedal itself. The tap switch cannot function like this either, which is a shame as it would be awesome to use. I was using the exp pedal to switch from clean to distortion but would of loved to of just used the tap switch.

Would it be possible to update the code on the Ultrawave so you could switch the graphic equaliser on/off using one of the 3 control sources on external control?? Just having a play with it and damn that would be cool if you could do that. Would open another whole can of worms on a pedal which opens up a lot of worms as it is!

I currently use both channels with both compressors (cascade 1 into 2) so would be using both channels. Would be ace if i could switch the graphic on or off either channel to get totally different sounds. I know off the 3way switch to 2nd preset and that is cool (would be even cooler if tap tempo could do that instantly)

but you can switch between two eq settings with midi or expression. Just leave one eq setting flat?
