Southampton Boost!!

If you want a wooly ol boost get the EP. The EP is nice don't get me wrong, but it was muddy with my setup. The SG sounds way better and. Is a lot clearer. Defined. And you can run it pretty high without killing your cab/amp. Bad a** with tubes. I'd pick this over the EP any day.

I can never decide.

One day I want a boost that is perfectly clear to boost my existing chain.

Next day, I want a boost that is a dirt box on its own.

Seems like this one can probably do both. Very cool.

This boost can do clean from 9 o'clock and below. Above that it responds to your attack so it will get dirty so to speak. But it's not really pronounced until you really get past noon. For me, the sweet spot is around 10 or 11 o'clock. Yumminess.

Leave it to shu to figure out how to get me to spend more money... ;)

And yes I forgot the sfx. I love Max so giving him business is alwasy desireable.

The Micro Boost is inevitable man. It can even drive a preamp. AND, it will give me room for something like this. In the meantime, I can move the BajoMOS to the secondary board and fit the Fifth Gear onto the main board :)

Just waiting for the Bass version. Can't wait for the Fuzz as well!

Honestly dude, I really dont think a bass version will matter much. This thing seriously punches. Seriously. I guess I could see why you would want to wait them having said they were working on a bass version. I guess we all go for the bass versions of most things. But IMO, this version handles low end and translates extremely well.

Hey guys. After some more testing thr bass version actually is redundant. This version is awesome with bass. I a/b with rp booster. This one is way cleaner and more full. Get em while u can. The bass specific version is not necessary

You did. But I didn't know if this was the intent or what it made you think of.

Ah, I see, sorry if I was more clear. But that is what Duke had said at one point, that it was roughly based or was in the realm of the Speaker Cranker. I know this thing cranks for sure though. I keep listening to the demo I made haha Not to toot my own horn but that tone is awesome. Aside from the clipping! ;) I will have to mess with the recording levels and mic placement next recording.

Well, ok, let me rephrase it:

When @DirtyDuke tells you to order and @gregmon79 gives you a glowing review, you buy it!

In my defence, did you actually tell me to order it? ;)

Well no I didn't. I just wanted some credit! Haha of all the stuff floating around out there I like when I actually turn others on to lesser known stuff. I always have help though. So thanks duke :)

No worries, glad U like it. Hamish is a good guy trying to do something he loves so why not help him out.

Wanted to chime in here about the pedal. It is definitely inspired by the EQD Speaker Cranker. Well, actually, the Electra Distortion which inspired the Speaker Cranker (nothing new, right?). I played a round with a LOT of diode arrangements and came up with one that I think sounds better, changed out the power section to protect against reverse polarity and packed it in a more pedalboard friendly enclosure. My philosophy is to provide people with effects that sound great in a package that fits their boards for a fair cost. No I'm not coming up with brand new circuits, but who is these days? Just refining what works into something I can't wait to get home and play.

Additionally, DirtyDuke is right, the Bass version is probably going to get canned - the stock version hold up really well with bass and there's no point in modifying a perfectly good circuit just to label it something different (Big Muff, I'm looking at you).

Cheers!
