Southampton Pedals show some love thread!!

Fifth Gear Grit is where it’s at, you’re all using yours wrong.

Back in my day, the Fifth Gear (V1) didn’t have a separate gain or heat knob, so you just turned the one knob up and took the grit it gave you, and you loved it, you didn’t have a choice!

Damn entitled millennials...

This showed up earlier today, finally getting around to checking it out. Pretty impressive and versatile tone enhancer...impossible to get a bad sound.

It has been about 24 hours and where has this pedal been all my life? Can't seem to switch it off @bongomania 's suggested clean svt settings.

So cool to go to see one of your favourite bands and see the bassists pedal board.

Thanks Nick for the tickets!!!!!!!!!

This is Nick's pedalboard for the Arkells rally Cry tour. He used a Jazz bass, orange head and ampeg 810 and this board. Sounded amazing . They are such a good live band. Sold out show . Somewhere around 5000 people. So cool to meet them.

Thanks for the tickets Nick!!!!!!

Last night at rehearsal I had my Fifth Gear > Vintage Micro Tubes > Messenger > Keeley Bassist > TH500 > Berg CN112. Really clean and punchy tone. The gain stage on the 5G really adds some presence and punch. I find it hard to use the Heat without getting too much distortion but I can get punch and a tad of grind by turning the Gain up just a bit. As is said, running the 5G into another OD can be fabulous. My guitarist was really complimentary of my tone so I loaned him the 5G to try. Hope I get it back.
