Southampton Pedals show some love thread!!

All Things Equal is a really cool idea, I'm thinking it would pair really well with a ToneHammer pedal, and might be the missing link between having the clean / dirty channel everyone one wants!

This picture popped up the other day also:

I think the ATE v2 might replace my FG v1. I like the form factor of 125b better than the little 1590a, and it would help balance out my two basses. Or I'll us it to boost into my FG v2!
If you have a Fifth Gear always on it's a no brainer.... it's even halfway to a V2 with gain (internal trim) and volume (x2), so you can dial it in a bit better than the original

You're talking me into it. I could probably flip my Azure Drive as well, given that I primarily stack it with my 2 Fifth Gears and never use it on it's own.

Just picked up a Fifth Gear V2 (#058) from a fellow TB'er ...
Haven't had a chance to test drive it yet but it should pair very nicely with my Rusty Box!!

Also, I've been reading up on everything Southampton in these here forums and I have a strong feeling I'll be picking up a few other SP treats in the very near future.
I can say from personal experience the rusty and fifth Gear pair very well.
I usually have my ictineo always on, add rusty to brighten things up, the fifth Gear to bring the old school Boogie, and all three to take it to eleven. Very happy with that trilogy.

I wonder, since it's digital, if the Knife could get a second, momentary switch to cycle between the 4 effects. Less bending down to tweak knobs dontchaknow.

Personally I don't like 2 footswitches on a 125b. I find it complicated to hit one switch and not the other when using it live. It messes up how I hit the pedals next to it as well.

Love the pedal's tone. That said, I wish the volume went to 11. I'm finding that the wet signal barely matches the dry signal.
If you take the pedal off your board and run it on its own, does it still do this? If so, what pickups are you using?

It should be quite loud, but that can be impacted by the pedals infront of it in the chain or your pickups.

If it's still quiet on its own, send me an email and we'll get it sorted out.

I'll check it out at practice tonight. Just worked on my pedalboard this weekend - tested all the cords, changed the order of a couple pedals, but I don't think I changed the order of the 5th gear. There's a beta bass, korg pitch black, ditto looper, and an idiotbox whores fuzz in front of it. I sometimes use the beta bass with the 5th gear, but I really just like the 5th gear on its own.
