Earlier this month we had a string of those pass through the sky up our way. It caused quite a commotion. I must be 'the space guy' among my friends since they all started texting me to ask if I saw it and what it was.

Just about a year ago, one nite around 8ish, i was in my backyard. I looked up and saw, one light after another, after another. I counted right around 62 in a line. Was crazy, at first i was thinking ufo, then about 60 seconds in, i'm thinking it might be military aircraft moving somewhere in large number. Never thought about starlink. Ended up googling that nite and figured out what i'd seen. I will admit, that first 30 seconds, i was kinda freaked out, lol

A SpaceX fanatic created a website to find out when Starlink satellites were visible in his location. After 5 days, it went viral. You can use it to see where to look and for how long.

I saw a headline that the Chinese space station will be populated here in a few weeks by three astronauts, or taikonauts as they are known in Chinese.
To me, that takes some serious courage to be the first to hang out for three months on a new space station.

I was looking for that link to post it here but got distracted. Nah, why would the military suddenly be interested in a commercial cargo service that can put people and Large Thing anywhere on the planet in less than an hour. I wonder how many M1 Abrams would fit in a Starship?

The US military is starting to get really interested in Starship

(I checked, an Abrams is ~60 tons, Starship can lift ~100. So only one tank per ticket, please...)

A lot of equipment like tanks, etc. is pre-positioned. I'd bet more on personnel being the target.

The fact that it can serve as a highly manuverable orbiting fuel depot for satellites and other orbiting assets like the X-37B and it's follow-ons is pretty valuable too.
