The bracing is a bit weird, one thing to keep in mind is the strings are pushing down on the top in this design, rather than pulling up like a typical acoustic.

Also got the tail blocks done. The strings actually anchor into these on either side of the tail. This bass uses upright bass strings, which need a break angle of about 15 degrees at the bridge to isolate them properly. It also allows for the correct string length from the ends to the nut. So, the blocks have a 5/8" hole that runs about 3.75" deep where the ball ends anchor, and then the strings exit through a 3/16 hole in the other end. They get the 15 degree angle at the bridge from the side rather than up and down.

Finished bending the sides, and like to let them rest in the mold a few days before working more on them. So, I cut the pearl for the headstock inlay. I will etch in details after it's inlaid into the ebony.

I try to isolate the top from the rest of the body to get a better sound. They go through to the back for coupling and structural reasons.
A lot of times you will see side supports stopping at the kerfing - this is really bad because you are actually encouraging the side to split at the ends of the supports. That's why I pocket them into the top kerfing a bit.
