Still waiting on a long drill bit to do the truss rod hole into the body. Don't want to attach the fretboard to the neck until I know for sure the truss rod is going to work right.
So, no neck shaping yet.
Lots of body sanding today prepping for pore fill.
Here is the top under a couple coats of shellac

Also started pore filling. I'm going to french polish this bass, but I've been doing the pore fill with solarez "i can't believe its not lacquer grain filler". It's a UV cure, and it's supposed to work by just holding it in the sun for a few minutes. I haven't found the sunlight thing works very well, but I do have an old metal halide fish tank light - if you use a bulb suitable for growing corals it will cure in a few minutes.
