Special surprise after the gig

I was eating a bag of Baconets (pork rinds) on a break, and one of the regulars on this country gig told me if you like those, let me bring you some home made fresh ones

Sure. I forgot about it

Next week, he shows up with a big Ziploc bag full of . . . fresh home made pork rinds.

Thanks.

I pull one out ( thank goodness he'd already walked away) and it's still got stubble on the skin side where they didn't boil Mr Porky long enough. Eeeekkk! There's little hairs on em. Noooooo . . . .

I hurried up out to the car and threw 'rm in the trunk. He came by later and I told him I was taking them home to share with my wife.

On the way home I pulled off on a side road and pitched em in the weeds. Something ate em, I'm sure.

Just not me.

You've been blessed with a miraculous gift from the FSM!

He made it by hand, even grew the several ounces of magic mushrooms in the sauce...
That actually happened to me. I got punked by this crazed keyboard player that I knew… I went by his place to drop off some albums, and he said, “I just made some spaghetti, you want some?” Not thinking much of it, I had a little, and then, as I was beginning to go on my way, he tells me that those were special ‘shrooms. Of course I was pissed off. I had to go assist my parents in an antique auction, holding up rare, expensive items for display purposes. But I maintained(as we called it back in the day). It didn’t “come on” until after I drove over there, and I was quite “experienced” anyway. The entire event was quite colorful.

All kidding side, I'm a proponent of psychedelics, but dosing people without consent is extremely dangerous and abusive.

Yeah, totally out of line. I'd have been furious, and im not inexperienced, but that's a pretty big risk slipping someone that kinda thing. People have died from it...

Yeah, he was a borderline maniac type from Long Island. Brilliant keyboardist, but lacking certain social filters. I had no idea what he was doing going to college in the midwest, but there he was. As I had experienced NYC several times going back to when I was four years old, and was fairly familiar with the culture from film and music, I pretty much had his number. Pretty much, but but not entirely. Yeah, I wasn’t too damn happy about being slipped a dose, but I had enough resolve to not let it harsh my mellow, if you know what I mean.

Funny thing, he was maniacally into prog rock, the deep weird stuff, we hit it off over Van der Graaf Generator. But then the transition to new wave/punk happened, and he couldn’t quite bring himself to go along with our little crowd.
He soon moved back to the East Coast, and then I eventually heard that he had joined a hardcore band(on keys?what?), and had subsequently died.
