A little early but since I had a little photoshoot with my beautiful wife this morning after the kids went to school;), I thought I would share a little christmas card with you guys. Hope you don´t mind.

I´ll add that my wife likes to play bass as well and supports me playing. She also loves my new Spector:bassist:

My friend who owns a music store recommends this... if the shipper packages the item, they cannot refuse a claim if the it arrives damaged. A small price to pay to ensure that the instrument gets to you safely.

Being devil's advocate here...

If you have no boxes or supplies and you have to buy (new) two boxes packing peanuts or bubble wrap, pay someone to pack it, and pay someone to ship it it'll cost around 100 bucks or so. With that being said, if his friend owns a guitar store, I imagine he has the hookup on both boxes and shipping.

That's why I try to stock pile boxes and packing stuff. When I lived in Louisiana I had an in with a guitar shop and they let me ship through them at their cost. Now that I've moved I feel like I'm getting raped for shipping charges.

The exact size of the box can sometimes double the shipping cost. Example; a (51 X 16 X 6) box may be $40ish but a (52 X 17 X 8) box can jump to $75-$80 to the same location.

Also, UPS through Paypal gives a bit of a discount over the cost through ups.com, fedex.com and in person at the location.

This seller is referring to having the UPS or Fed Ex store box and pack the bass, so they can't deny a claim. So actually if he does do it this way it would most likely cost $100+ to ship it.

Believe me, I know. I shipped two boxes yesterday. One was slightly larger than the other one.

Box 1: 58.00
Box 2: 35.00

I am currently battling it out with ups on a tmax bass head they damaged in shipping ... If I hadn't paid for them to pack the item I believe they would h e denied the claim . I don't feel it was packed or handled properly . If I had used the same packing I think they would have said it wasn't packed properly ... But now I'm just waiting on money so I can refund the buyer ....

The current USA bolt ons have a curved body, but it is less curved than the neck throughs and the edges are less rounded.

I've had my SPECTOR Comfort strap for a couple of months or so and I absolutely love it! :D It's all I use with my bass now. Especially helps with my bum left shoulder! :)

This is a 2000 NS-2J. The cutaway comes in at the 23rd fret.
It has the same contoured body as the NS-2.
The flat bodies have the gut cut.

I too keep a couple of previously shipped bass boxes plus foam peanuts and bubble wrap up in my garage rafters for future shipping. When JeffPlaysBass bought my Ian Hill unexpectedly while we were visiting our kids in Columbus Ohio, I went to the local SamAsh store and they gave me a used shipping box. :)
As we all know...99.99% of us club members will sell just about any one/all of our basses to satisfy S.A.S.!!!:eek::rollno::D

Me too but with FedEx!:atoz: I recently bought an Ampeg BA-112 from a fellow TBr and it must have been dropped from 20':eyebrow:...when it arrived I was horrified!:eek:
I'd expect this from UPS but never from FedEx.:ninja: Lots of damage and all the channels are static. :bawl: But the TBr insured for $300.00 and filed the claim and FedEx has been in touch with me asking for pics. Lets hope for a speedy claim re-embursement. :hmm:
