Welcome to Bass Strings Online - Your Custom Bass String Shop...

I am not affiliated with this site, except that Jason who runs the site is
"my dealer" for my string addiction lol. :hiding: :o

There are a few guys in here that buy from this site and they will all tell you what a great experience it is. Quick shipping, and Jason will answer any question you have about strings.

Example, Mon 12/12 at about 4PM eastern, I decided I needed to order a set of DR Hi Beams and DR LoRiders
----The strings arrived on Weds 12/14. via Priority Mail

P.S. He also ships out of the US for you overseas Spector members. :D

Sign up as a VIP and the prices you get will be even lower then what you see without being logged in as a VIP member.

Send a PM to SLaPiNFuNK (Jason) with any questions.

I've ordered from them and it's great service and crazy fast shipping.....

Worth quoting. If you're not buying your strings from Jason (assuming he sells your preferred string) you need to have your head examined.

Thanks,
I do love that growl under that laid back smooth Jazz sound. :bassist:
I bet if Coltrane was around for the Spector era, he would demand his bass players to use Spectors ;):bassist:

I am using this.

But there are alot of less expensive items you can use for this. Basically its a device that allows you to plug your analog instruments into your PC via USB. Everything is recorded on on your hard drive. I am using the program that came with this, which is Pro Tools LE.

With these recordings I copied the MP3 of the song into Pro Tools, EQ'd the bass frequencies out

The bass plugs into the Mbox (just like it would into an amp) and this box connects to the USB port on my PC.

I recorded my bass track and mixed it down with the MP3.

The MP3 would be a Stereo (Track 1)
and my bass would be (Track 2)

At first this can sound very complex but once you get it setup its very easy to work with.

Thanks, gonna start looking into this

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to convert 9 to 18 volt? I'm just curious as i might want to try this if it is possible with one of my on board preamps.

I see it has a bridge ground, too....
I wonder if it could also be one of the last ones built with whatever Kramer had....
86 Haz pre, gold USA bridge, gold Gotoh tuners, Korean fretboard, Plastic nut, etc...:hmm:
As I remember, that possibility came up (i.e. Some of the very last NS2A's with actual US bodies/necks). The general concensus was "probably not" as when those have surfaced they've had the US inlays.

Sorry if someone posted this before, but, uh, what is this?

Depends on your pre.
All EMG's, Aguilar and all but the earliest Tone Pumps (that had the voltage doubler) seem to be fine with it. EMG's are actually able to run up to 27 volts.
I'm not sure on other various pre's.

Physically, you just wire two 9 volts up in series.

I need to start doing this. I've been ordering from JustStrings who are fast, but I priced my custom D'Addario XL and BSO is about $5 cheaper. Big difference.
How do you sign up as VIP? I don't see that on the site unless I'm missing it.

Per set or is that on some kind of bulk order?

FWIW, I just placed my yearly D'Addario bulk order with JustStrings earlier this week.....only to get a mailer from "The Perfect Bass" where they're having some screaming deals on D'Addarios right now. I could have saved about $3-$4 per set.

DOH! :scowl:
