Dude, I really like this. Will it be available on iTunes when it's finished? I'd buy it, and so would my wife.

Ya they are getting sent out to be mastered tomorrow... Then we will get them on iTunes and all the junk (couple weeks hopefully) :) thanks for the support

Was trying to practice this evening. My daughter wasn't too keen on the guitar being in my lap instead of her. So she decided to chill on my shoulders to show her disapproval.

That's not disapproval... That's the best seat in the house... Like being on the 50 Yard Line - Row 10.
You know, cats see us as "heated furniture". :D

Besides... That's a great pic of you three...

And HEY! What's up with the missing truss rod cover ????? :eyebrow: and the white powdery looking stuff on the fretboard?

Thanks man!! early next year but its only the 3 song EP:( but if people buy it a full length is close behind :) :bassist:

Now THAT NS2A might be worth 770.00... maybe. :hmm:
What's your take on it, Phat?
As I seem to remember, we never really got to the bottom of it last time.

He was claiming it was an NS2 "prototype".
We figured it was either a stripped and modified NS2A, but were in doubt as the wood looked a little too nice and the pre (which could have been a retro-replacement) was dated too early (1986) for an NS2A.

I thought it was you who said he knew of someone who made pretty spot-on Spector copies and said it could be one of his.

Now this guy is saying it's an NS2A prototype. This would seem more likely as the wood is a little nicer than what went into the production models and 1986 would be just prior to the mass introduction/production of them.

Where the Schaller roller bridge came from is anybody's guess.

I see it has a bridge ground, too....
I wonder if it could also be one of the last ones built with whatever Kramer had....
86 Haz pre, gold USA bridge, gold Gotoh tuners, Korean fretboard, Plastic nut, etc...:hmm:

Sorry if someone posted this before, but, uh, what is this?

I made some videos today of me playing along with some songs that will be used in My Spector Story part 2 which should be done very soon.

You will notice a pretty big difference in song genres :bassist: :hiding:

I EQ'd the original bass out of the recordings so the bass you hear is me playing. :bassist: ;)

Really dig your "My Favorite Things" recording. I love a growly bass under jazz and blues.

BTW how are you recording? I guess you're going direct but I really don't know what that means. I'm kind of a tech impaired. I guess you have your cord going into a box of some sort that then plugs into the computer? I'd like to try that out sometime if knew how.

Thanks,
I do love that growl under that laid back smooth Jazz sound. :bassist:
I bet if Coltrane was around for the Spector era, he would demand his bass players to use Spectors ;):bassist:

I am using this.

But there are alot of less expensive items you can use for this. Basically its a device that allows you to plug your analog instruments into your PC via USB. Everything is recorded on on your hard drive. I am using the program that came with this, which is Pro Tools LE.

With these recordings I copied the MP3 of the song into Pro Tools, EQ'd the bass frequencies out

The bass plugs into the Mbox (just like it would into an amp) and this box connects to the USB port on my PC.

I recorded my bass track and mixed it down with the MP3.

The MP3 would be a Stereo (Track 1)
and my bass would be (Track 2)

At first this can sound very complex but once you get it setup its very easy to work with.

Hey,

So far, I like it quite a bit. I'm not much of a slapper, but it does sound great. The OBP-3 is a fine preamp, although it gets real "hot" real fast when you start turning the dials. The pickups are Aguilar single coils, and I'm not sure if I like them yet or not. I remembered why I generally don't like single coils: it is impossible to favor one pickup or another without creating a MASSIVE amount of hum. They are very mid-present and have lots of thump, with a controlled low end and fairly smooth highs.

I'm going to play them for a few more months, but I might switch them out for something different (and hum-cancelling)

And, since you asked, here are a few more pictures!!!!!

This is from my gig last weekend. Unfortunately, it's the best picture I have of the bass. I swear I'm playing it!!!

Nices pics Guy!
