Trust me, I would have thought it ridiculous too. It was a last option that I tried for a dirty string that had got "something" on it and wouldn't come clean. I was stunned that it not only worked, but worked so well. I haven't boiled a string since.I'm not arguing with it at all! I'm actually looking forward to trying it, but I've been using strings that have silk ends on them.
I just put thebecause whether it works or not, I think it's funny that you can clean strings that way.
Did you see 107113955 by chance? The good thing about the natural ones is even though there might be buckle rash or scratches, you can barely see it on that finish. When I ordered mine, the sales guy said there was a bunch of markings on it but when it arrived, I had to look really close to find anything since the finish tends to cover it up a good deal.
The funny thing about the GTG's with Lima is now it has become a family thing since my daughter is the same age as his and my wife hangs out with his wife. It's to the point now that my wife and daughter keep asking me when we are going to go over Sam's again

As of late last night it was still "Spector Bass" in the title, but claims of it being an "NS2" several times in the description.

Well, I just ordered a couple of sets of D'Addarios to try on a bass. Haven't used them in a while and that's what I primarily used to use.
I'll be honest, I'm tired of spending a small fortune on strings.

I did see that one and I'm considering it. If they would sell it to me for their asking price minus tax and shipping, I'd probably buy it. But they won't budge. Also, I would prefer a transparent finish of some kind.

Guys It might sound strange, but i have been using my Ns2 as my "Motown " bass I have been on a major Jamerson kick for the last couple of years . The strings on my Ns 2 needed changing when i started learning a few more Jamerson songs. The strings are about seven months old. I just roll the blend over to the p pickup add a bit of mid treble low of course and i play slightly in front of the p pickup .Killer sound! But i am starting to miss the growl so i think its time my other bass is going to be the "Motown "bass. I love my Ns2 more and more each time i pick it up. I still look at it in awe like the first time i saw one in a review in Circus magazine (jeez i have not thought of that mag in years) Its like being a teenager again.
These are Korean-Made Kramer-Era basses.
The NS-2A, NS-2B and NS-2C were the Korean-made bass line for SPECTOR from 1986 until 1990 when Kramer folded.
The NS-6A, NS-6B and NS-6C were the Korean-made guitar line for SPECTOR during the same period.
The NS-2A and NS-6A were neck-thru production copies of the USA models of that time with pearl-dot necks. Although a few NS-2A models were made with inlays towards the end.
The NS-2B and NS-6B were flat-body neck-thru models which featured a beveled edge along the outside of the guitar on the front.
The NS-2C and NS-6C were bolt-on versions of the flat/beveled body NS-2B and NS-2C.

The ONLY thing this bass has going for it that makes it worth as much as a typical NS-2A when looking at resell value is that there weren't that many made. The NS-2B and NS-2C, NS-6B and NS-6C were made in much fewer numbers than their fully carved "A" model counterparts.
I'd say half of what he's asking is more realistic. And if you are the type of collector that wants an all-original one for your collection, perhaps in the $400 to $500 range at most.
$700 for this bass is a lot considering you can have the NS-2A prototype with an authentic USA Haz circuit in it for the same price.

A lime-green NS-2B neck-thru showed up here on Craig's List last year for $350 and if it wasn't for the fact the color made people nauseous looking at it I was thinking about picking it up just to be able to get better photos of it.
They're no different than the NS-2A in quality.
This white one is in good condition. Honestly if it was half the price he's asking it would be an intriguing deal for me.
I seriously want my hands on one for photos. No one I know that would be willing to ship one to me has one.
It's an interesting footnote in the import designs... nothing like it before (because these were in the very first group of SPECTOR Imports made) or since have been made.
On par with the NS-2A and the Legends series... there is nothing wrong with these basses.
My NS-2A sits in the rack next to The Black Pearl and I love it because it's the only fretless I own.
If someone ends up buying this one or the NS-2A prototype, let me know. I'd love to get some good photos of either/both.

Just to ask man , Why are you saying towards the end ? Samick made the ns2a for the last year or two , all of the inlay ns2a models I've ever seen were straight up Kramer models , not Samick/kramers . also several of the inlay ones I've seen on eBay didn't have the serial number on the cover , which would mean they were made the first few years of the ns2a .
