SPECTOR® Club - Part 21

The truss rod covers have been off the Black Pearl and NS-4 lately because I've been slowly tweaking the truss rods until I've got really low string height reading 4/64th inch on the E string at the 12th fret with no buzzing. :D

The white powdery looking stuff on the fingerboard is the highlights of the wood. The Birdseye Maple finger board is very figured and iridescent looking when hit with a flash. There's almost a holographic look to it under bright lights.

The fingerboards for the BEM models are really beautiful.

Ah. I see, said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw....

I kinda figured you were tweaking the action some.
The figuring flash makes sense.

New video coming soon with some tapping in it???? :hyper:

Hey THUNDAR !!!!! Heads up, man!

Spector Bass | eBay

I am selling my precious, 24 year-old, Spector NS-2, 4-string bass (Designed by Ned Steinberger !)...............This is an early Spector NS-2 Bass. Beautiful, white pearl finish (looks fantastic onstage w/ lights!) and a Rosewood, pearl dot-inlaid fingerboard - with Original, Spector pickups ! It has excellent, black chrome, Schaller tuners, which function WELL, a matching black chrome bridge, and a matching, "Drop-D" tuner on the E string.

Looks like an NS-2C to me!! annnnd it's .... WHIIIIIIITE !!!

Yes. You can't argue with 25+ years of success.
However, I tried several tapered or exposed core strings over the years, and the Dean Markley Will Lee's are the only ones I had this problem with.

I'm not arguing with it at all! I'm actually looking forward to trying it, but I've been using strings that have silk ends on them.

I just put the :D because whether it works or not, I think it's funny that you can clean strings that way. :)

Wow. Cool. National gallery of art? Is there a website there with pics? Or do you have a website? Always love to look at other peoples photos.

Best regards/Daniel

Doesn't it say in the title NS-2C? Or did he edit it because you caught him? Still WAY overpriced....
Where did all the NS-2B's and C's come from? I swore I hadn't seen any since they came out and now they're popping up everythere!

It is NO good for slapping, but I'm a melodic player anyway. So it's got such a great action for tapping, harmonics and general playing.

It's taken about a week for me to work the truss, adjust the saddles, test and then let the neck rest. Then the next night do it again.

It's sick low and honestly if it wasn't for the awesome crowning job Stuart does at the workshop it wouldn't have been possible. I have minimal back bow on the necks at about 1/2 of a turn.

I love the really low action. It takes minimal effort to press the string and get a solid note.
THAT'S the way that I like it too. I'm not a slapper either. Even though at times I get a little wound up in certain songs and dig the strings a bit hard (My sound guys goes nuts at times trying to keep up,lol:bassist:). I love the way that you can get the SPECTOR bass strings set so low that it feels like the bass is playing it's self!

Mad is a bolt on kind of guy and the Mike Kroeger bass has a set neck. Too bad he lives kind of far and can't join me and Lima for our get-togethers since I would be curious what he thinks about my Rebop 5.

Yep, I'm a bolt on guy for sure. You better believe we'd be having some GTG's if I lived near you guys!

I've always got my eye open for a nice Rebop 5. GC has a used one with a flame top I dig, but the back is severely scratched up. Not that it affects the playability, but I know if I were to resale it I would take a hit because they're gonna charge me tax and shipping.
