Recently had the opportunity to play trhough an Ampeg 8x10...absolutely monstrous! However the thing is ridiculously difficult to move, it is huge and weighs a ton, no way am I gigging something that big! Not with the amount of stairs I have to deal with.

Way easier than a 4x10 unless you have stairs. The handle ,casters and slide rails make it a breeze actually. I may add more casters to mine to make it easier to move in tight spaces once its upright. Stairs are bad though.

I own an SR 5 string and a Rebop 5 string. The Rebop neck is thicker than the SR. The is a noticeable difference in the neck so it will take a little getting used to, but the tone you get from a Rebop is miles above that of an SR.

After playing an SR though, just about every neck feels a little on the thick side. I'd classify the Rebop's neck as average thickness compared to other 5ers.

I just upgraded my rig to an Ampeg SVT-4Pro and an Ampeg 810E.

It really is Outrageous. Isn't it? I put up with the weight and portability issues because, for me, there is nothing better at bringing out the Spector sound.

I don't use pedals because I like Spectors so much. haha.
I like the grit that I can get from the right TonePump adjustments on the bass itself. I usually leave the EQ on the amp relatively flat, which is crazy because I love tweaking stuff (hence the amp that I currently play out of), and do most of the tone control from the pre on the bass.

That being said, if I had to use a pedal, I would probably use a Big Muff Pi Bass fuzz pedal. That's just cuz I listen to a lot of Mastodon, though.

You might want to keep that bass inside, it might rain.

Maybe he's hoping it's like a Gremlin and when it gets wet it'll pop out a bunch more.

So sad because afterwards the owner said he isn't using it and I could borrow it....

I have a polish love OD pedal, which gives me my grit, a Sansamp BDDI because my amp is pretty poor so it gives me somewhat better tone. And then I have a BF3 flanger which I'd rarely gig with and an EHX bassballs, which are just for fun. And then I have a volume and a future tuner, but those are standard.
I only use the BDDI and the Polish Love live. . Otherwise, Spector's have a pretty nice clean tone!

Only 4 Pedals on my Boss BCB-60 powered pedalboard: A Digitech Death Metal distortion going into Two Korg AX1-B Multieffects & then a Digitech Jam Man Solo that my nephew left here before he moved to Florida.

That's almost everything I could ever need right there!

I use a mxr m80 for some extra grit and I have a behringer bdi I have set to really low bass. I use the latter for big bass slides.

I have a digi delay pedal and a distortion pedal but I don't use them. I will be getting a soundblox bass envelope filter pedal though, that will be fun. I don't use pedals a whole lot but they are fun because they are something different

No pedals. Spector straight into a SVT 2p into an SVT8x10 is absolutely the Sh#T! and all you ever need for any style of music. The Spector tone is where its at and far too good to cover up with pedals . Ymmv

I used an MXR Octave pedal. Love it.

I have a Zoom Multi-effect, don't use it much - my favorite was an old DOD Envelope Filter, or maybe it was Digitech - it was a long time ago.

90% of the time, I like the pure sound of the bass and the PUPs.

I had a mutron for a while. I think it was called Mutron III.

I have a multi effects unit that I rarely use. When I do its just for solo practice. I do use, for those times when an Ampeg is not available, a Tech 21 VT bass pedal. Indispensable.
