No, I no longer have any 'narrow' 5'ers...I just can't play them. My short fat fingers just love 19mm spacing!

So what you are saying is, you really like Spector's with the EMG MM pickups? :-)

Those look bigger than the TW pickups I have in my Euro 5 though so I am not sure I could do a direct swap. I was thinking of trying one out to see how I like it. Did they mount yours closer to the bridge like a Music Man or is that the normal position they install them? Sorry for all the questions, I am just curious and even though I saw the picture you posted, I always thought it was the regular TW pickup they use.

Hey everyone,
Just worked on a new track last night for about 30-45 minutes. I'm trying out some new guitar, bass, and drum tones (Toontrack Allaire) on this one. I'm going for a cleaner bass tone on this one with my Euro 4LX. Just two tracks of bass. One Axe Fx using the Ampeg SVT bass model, and another using the the free TSE sansamp plugin. Hope you guys like it. Its pretty short as i didn't have time to make it longer yet. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK PLEASE :)

The EMG MM pickup looks to be in the standard Spector bridge pickup position, in my experience a standard musicman pickup is something like 2 inches from the saddles. It is slightly closer to the bridge than a standard P-bass pickup, so it would probably be somewhere between the two pickups on a standard spector. I think the average MM has 21 frets where spectors always have 24 :D

Yep. Definitely closer to the bridge....but the bottom end is just massive. It's a clear bottom though, not mud like you get from a neck pickup. Kind of hard to explain!

Yeah I love this pickup. I'm thinking of getting the 4 string version for my Warwick Streamer. I'm just not sure yet.

As mentioned above, mine is mounted in Spector's normal bridge position. The 'Stingray' position would be more towards the neck. I like it just fine where it's at...it gives a clear, massive bottom. Some basses have a massive bottom end, but that's it...it's just bottom end. This one has everything and it just hits you like a wall of sound with the full spectrum. Again..hard to explain :)

Very cool! As always . I like that tone a lot. Not far off from what I run actually. I pump a little more mids though (fq selector on 3, mids at 3:00 on the svt) . Might try scooping the guitars just a little more and let the Spector do its thing around 700-800 Hz. Love the tones you get though. Always brutal :)

I'm not as technical as Grendle, but ya let the bass shine a little more in mix, IMHO it suits your music well

So it may be next year when I join the club again but I'm Spector gassin bad and these Forte's ain't helping my cause;) Can't wait to see how they turn out.

As I understand from Bassboy01 You must have your order in NLT end of Jan. 2012. These will be made in limited quantities. Basically only those that are ordered. Am I wrong here???

Great clip as always.

Can you post or send me a version with no guitars.
I always love to hear the bass on its own.

A bit of a boost in the 700-800Hz range as mentioned above or lower the guitars down and as you know that area on the Spector will magically come alive :bassist:

Ya know...that might be a really great idea! Let's sell it to Todd. I know that I'm tapped right now with buying 2 Fortes and Christmas and my wife's birthday Jan. 2nd. I'll need more time too. If I'd known about this before I ordered my 2nd Forte...

Bear in mind that he is breaking up the payment into three installments. And there will be a 4-5 month build time.

I can understand the desire to put it off, but adding another month really piles on to the wait time *
