Ah ok, thanks. I'm planning on a standard tuning, but I'd like to be able to change tunings if I need to. They don't seem terribly expensive at $36 for the 5-string set I'm looking at, but I tend to keep my strings on for several months. Does anyone else make a B-string as heavy as 142?

Yes. I just ordered a .145 D'Addario B string for my Rebop 5. I had to have a custom order nut made to be able to fit a string that thick so I can't wait until that arrives so I can try these new strings out.

If you ever have questions on here, Limaguy is definitely the one that can help you out since he has pretty much tried every string out there. I also messaged Jason from Bassstringsonline.com who is a member here on Talk Bass and was really helpful with me to help choose what strings would be best. His user name is SLaPiNFuNK and don't hesitate to contact him with any questions you have.

What sets come with Bs that thick? I've never seen a D'addario thicker than like .135.

I ordered singles from Bassstringsonline.com. That's what is great about that site, they have really good customer service and you can do a custom set of strings that way by ordering singles. I went and ordered a .145, .110, .90, .70, and a .50 since I am going to drop tune this bass a whole step.

Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas/Holiday day. 21 went by in a blur. I am expecting 22 to be great, as it should unveil the specs for the TB special edition Spector. Meanwhile lets put some faces to some names. Some of you guys I know what you look like, others remain cloaked in mystery. So heres me in a blurry rehearsal picture.

Ah, that explains it.
I've heard nothing but good things about their customer service.
I actually registered for that site a while ago- I even got a coupon for 5$ off for answering a trivia question right, lol. I have a few sets of strings I want to burn through before placing my order though. Their prices are killer!
