SPECTOR® Club - Part 22

Sorry to break into the club like this, but I was hoping some of you Spector experts could shed some light on this curious Spector that I've owned for 10 years or so. Most fascinating to me are the 24th fret double dot markers. I can't seem to find these on any other NS-2A's I've seen. I heard that JPS might be able to help me.

And I think I need a club number, too.

Thanks

I haven't seen that. Where is serial # located?

I picked up a spector euro 4lx(p/j setup) and the emg precision pickups have gone bad. I prefer slapping and pretty much playing with a sound like flea from rhcp. What pickups should i replace them with that would be better? i have some bartolini pickups in my jazz bass and i like those but how are the bartolini precision pickups? or how are seymour duncan or dimarzio pickups? thanks:bassist:

I haven't seen much discussion about pickups other than the EMGs......

Ok, here's another difference I just realized. The back of the black one's headstock is flush with the back of the neck. The back of the red one's headstock had a lip/ridge and is not flush with the back of the neck...

Does anyone here run flats on their Spector and if so how do they sound?

I run La Bella flats on my Euro 4. Just trust me on this one.... lol.... they sound awesome. I have rounds on my NS-2, but absolutely am in love with the flats.

I have posted this before a bit but not mentioned the flats part of the story. I have a great bass player as a teacher. He has been a pro forever, owned high end music stores, has a partner and sells high end guitars etc.

Anyway, I played the Euro with flats for him. He took it, and kept trying to find something that displeased him, as he is extremely picky and plays only hand picked Foderas. After awhile he could find nothing wrong at all, handed it to me and said two times it is a great bass.

Anyway, I leave the La Bellas on that one and will jamming with it tomorrow.

Hope that helps!
