SPECTOR® Club - Part 22

A friend and private collector just negotiated a deal with me regarding a vintage SPECTOR I've been interested in owning... so I need to make room. And as awesome as this bass is... I'm making room for a vintage USA. So it really the only one I own that I'm willing to part with.

Anyone interested send me a PM. We can talk from there. It's a good deal.

No. Nicki is NOT for sale. :D And that's her Euro4LX-TW-35. It's identical to mine. I just thought this was a cool photo from yesterday's video shoot.

Hand-Picked by PJ Rubal for the 2010 BPL show... I fell in love with it and bought it at the show. Highly figured flame wings... it's in mint condition and is, the least played bass I own. I just don't need the B string that often.

DieChris takes it for a test drive and ends up ordering a silverburst one for himself.

And Nicki ordered one identical to mine after playing it at BPL.

It is unique that the center board in the 3-ply neck is Flame Maple and not Rock Maple. :D
So this bass has a beautiful flamed neck in the center down the entire back of the bass.

You can see the flame in the center plank in this photo as well.

A very smooth playing bass for sure! If I wasnt so bent on getting a USA.. I'd hit you up.

Thanks bro! See you in two weeks at NAMM!
And yeah... it's a hard one to part with. My last Euro (I have my Alex Bass but it's destined to be signed by Alex and framed in my office).
But this USA is too rare to pass on. So I need the funding and space so I don't get beat with my SPECTORs by my wife. :D

Here's the listing in the classifieds here:

I'm definitely shopping for new bass ideas at NAMM! It's gotta be a USA next... The Rex might need to go and hopefully not the euro....

But yes... See ya in a few!

We need someone to buy the mighty might haz copy - copy and do an in depth review of it in an ns2a . Do it man , do it !

I sold my red ns2a this weekend which has the tone/pump and emgs...as Justin(buyer) rode away I called him back and told him he can have the original spector pickups and has copy preamp....I told him take it it came with the bass, its junk...once you switch it to the tone/pump or emg preamp it sounds 500 times better.

Man , I have to be honest , I have had over 20 some few spectors and had every preamp except the USA 9v . This one is incredible . It's just pure out rock and roll . Every bass player that has played it or heard it and including guitar player say its the best sounding bass they have ever played/heard . I've got to record it so you all can hear it .

I may be wrong , but I don't think they make these anymore . They are the ones with the dip switches on the pups .

There's a bass player in the town I just moved from that had one of those pickups in his vintage P bass. He said the switch went from active to passive? That's what he thought anyway. It seriously was one of the best sounding P basses I've heard.

It was a huge improvement. It was a more well rounded sound and I was able to get the low end thump i was looking for. Better suited for holding the low end down. I got a really good deal so it was a no brainer for me. If I was paying new prices, I would just save up for a used Legend or NS-2A.

Here is a video, its a flip camera so its not the best (wear headphone to here bass well) this is an Ashdown mag 300 head with mids boosted a little and the Performer DLX both pickups on full and bass at 100% and treble at 90%

In his defense the GK neo cabs come with a special speakon cable new :ninja:
Great job on the playing! Nice sound! :bassist::)
yeah.. i dont know any guitar players under 30 that want to use a 6 anymore lol

I've talked to PJ about some 7s.. but its not a project they wanted to purse at the time
Wow! I'm way out of it I guess! I didn't know that the 7 strings have become that popular! :ninja: So the 7th string is a lower key?

I think it will be hard to break into the guitar world, which is probably why they just now have started making more models. With bass you only have a few die hard brands with guitar its a lot worse. I know I would have to play a spector guitar before I got rid of my les pauls and it would be a hard sell..... :hiding:
About a year ago I snagged a SPECTOR ARC 6 guitar off GC for $179.00! But I bought it to flip...Sold it for $500.00 in 2 days! I played it some before selling it...It has a really great sound! :bassist:Really easy to play. It felt so tiny in my arms after playing Bass! LOL

These are passive , but the three switches are eq's or sweeps .

For all the Ampeg heads on here, this is Meshell NdegeOcello's rig.
