I totally agree. My comment was more, how would you take this? And I see it as a compliment.

I think we've established that I don't work for Spector as an employee. But I'm a trusted consultant and I've worked really hard to share the 17 years of branding and marketing experience that I've developed along the way so that Spector grows stronger.

I've been very adamant that the strength of the company is NOT the basses or guitars it makes, but the relationships it develops with its customers.

Spector owners are a loyal and dedicated bunch of people. And THAT is strength. So my goal has been to turn the attention back on the owners, artists and fans who love these guitars.

And if this influences other companies to do the same, awesome! I think every company in the World that makes a product should stop looking at sales as the end of their business cycle and look at it as just the beginning. For it's the experience that the customer has AFTER they buy your product that matters most.

Spector gets it and I've been very fortunate that they've allowed me to do things like My Spector Story and adding customer's tracks to their product DVD.

I wasn't trying to be ugly or start trouble. I'm amused that this is a friend of mine doing this. But Andy's a good guy. So it's all good with me.

I apologize if anyone thinks I'm picking on Warwick, Andy or anyone who chooses to play or own a Warwick.

Please look at what I posted to Andy on this very comment.

Patrick Stern: You've also heard me say to musicians who've asked me, Which one should I play, a Warwick or a Spector? and my response is always the same... play both and choose the one that speaks to your soul.

The instrument a musician chooses to be the conduit for their creative expression is a very personal journey that is different for everyone. If you have music in your heart and soul that you want to express, play as many different guitars or basses or pianos or whatever instrument that calls to you, and play them until you find the one that speaks to you.

Find the instrument that is a joy to play. That's like a very joyous homecoming every time you pick it up.

The brand doesn't matter. What matters is that you love playing it and it becomes so much more than just a guitar or bass to you. It should become a trusted friend.

Dear god I just ate an equivalent amount of Indian food that could feed Andre the Giant and 3 of his friends. I'm about to implode.

Meaningless points aside, when I went out for lunch to get the food, I saw a dude walking about with a Spector hoody!!!! :hyper:
I'm surprised to see anyone in Vancouver that knows of any other brands aside from Fender and Ibanez....:rolleyes: It's like nothing else exists here:eyebrow:

There are a few of us Spector club members that own and play Warwicks. I am aware and respectful of the feelings of most of the members here. When the topic comes up I dont take offense. Personally, knowing the story, it is a bit of a moral dilemma to play and enjoy my Warwicks. But thats my burden to bear. I drive a Ford vehicle. It is well documented what kind of person Henry Ford was.
