Nice looking rig John! Congrats!!!Just thought I would post a quick pic of the new rig.
I know most of the people in here swear by Ampeg but after hearing the bass tone that John Montagna had on his My Spector Story, I have been really looking at Hartke equipment.
Looking through the used section of Guitar Center, one of the stores not too far from me got this amp and cabinet in and had them for an amazing price. I drove up and looked at them today and instantly fell in love with the sound and the clarity of this combo. They were basically brand new and still have all the stickers on them that come from when you buy them and the price just could not be beat. I have to say, it's a bit too powerful for my house but hey, there is no such thing right?

I rarely play for anyone other than myself. It's sort of a meditation I do... it's how I relax and make sense of the insanity that usually is unfolding around me, the rigors of common everyday life.
I've not really thought much about trying to record or perform anything. It's a guilty pleasure I have.
Could not agree more. JPS is a hell of a player. He just happens to be really good at other stuff too.

I play. It's fun. I love it.
What inspires me is seeing musicians like Abe Millett and Ra Diaz sit down, having never met or spoken to one another before, and jam together. Music is a language that way... and I think ultimately my goal would be to have the confidence and knowledge (and skill) to sit in on a jam session with any musician and be able to "speak" their language.

I completed the Legend 6 active EMG upgrade.
45P for the neck (a new EMG which needed to be shaved down alot to fit in the cavity)
45J for the bridge ( a older EMG which fit in with no shaving)
I have it wired with a Vol-Blend and the original Tonepump Jr. is in there for the moment.

By chance do you have any samples, or links to samples? I love to hear what other people are doing!
I want to incorporate that into the new version of Spector Central.
And unlike the DVD Catalog, which was designed to showcase Spector products and therefore I had that limitation of not including music made by guitars that weren't Spectors... Stuart and PJ would never want to take credit for another guitar maker's tone... this would be open to anyone who plays a Spector.
So if you've got a track that has yourself on a Spector bass but there are two guitarists, neither of them on a Spector, it wouldn't matter.
For this I'd only care that somewhere in the mix there's a Spector of some sort.
I did a lot of playing with Trent Reznor's multitrack files, dropping all the guitar and bass tracks out so I could re-record them with my Spector basses and Stuart's personal ARC6, the black prototype he sent to me and I had for almost a year... I sent it back to him last fall finally.

Yeah it's quite different. So weird to play a 4-string - it's the only one I own. First time I've played BEAD tuning without a G. Feels strange to have that high string be so thick.
I've not played allunimum cone cab. Does the tone sound warm or thinner? More high-mids & highs less big lows?
My Doug Wimbish arrived today that I bought from a member from here and it's amazing. It's mint as well, like brand new. 
I agree with you! My old peavey fury and peavey 1x10 did not sound nearly as good as my Forte running thru my GK/Hartke setup!
I have had crappy gear and really amazing gear (SPECTOR FORTE PLUG!), and while I find that I would rather pay more for a nicer bass, it is nice to know that it is possible to get really good sounds out of a "crappy" instrument.
...also I should mention that Regi plays thru a wicked amp that helps the tone.
+1 on the Forte Plug!
Also one has to wonder if Regi is running stock electronics & pups or upgraded? Everybody knows that you can take a lowend or starter bass and upgrade the electronics and it'll sound like a different/better axe.
OK this Euro 435 f'in rocks. I don't know if it's just the difference between the P/J on this vs. the TW's on my others but this thing is much closer to that "sound" I'm hearing when I think of an aggressive Spector. At the same time, it's making me appreciate the differences in my Euro 5 and 6.
It's time to start offloading some of my other "extra" basses now, because they are definitely going to see less playing time thanks to this bass and my other Spector's.

I played my Brooklyn Spector into like 6 different heads/amps/combos and every one it killed!!!
