Totally. My Euro4LX (bought new from Bass Central) had the gold Euro bridge. Because I play with a pick and I have long fingers, I rest the center of my palm on the back upper corner of the bridge as an anchor for when I am playing with a pick.

Within 3 or 4 months of getting that bass I noticed that that corner was turning more silver in color and becoming dull.

In 6 months I'd worn through that finish completely.

One of the reasons I like the USA Bridge (besides it's heavier) is that being solid premium brass I've yet to put as much as a dent in that finish.

Of course I play more and more with just my fingers these days. But it's definitely not a fluke that your finish is wearing off on your Euro. That happens.

Dude! That's funny. No worries. I'll never flame any musician for playing what they like. It's a choice. And you have to choose what works for you.

I'm not a 5-string player so I can only go by what I hear. PJ A/B tested the Coda-5 (34") and Coda-5-35 and you can hear the B-String much better.

He says that it's the same thing with the Spector SSD and Kramer models (the NS-5 vs. NS-5XL). And I've heard a few other old-school Spector Artists say the same thing.

So in regards to other makes... don't know. But with what I've heard and what I've been told from people I trust, with Spector that extra inch makes a tonal change in addition to string tension.

We totally lost a lead / main guitar in the beginning of the first song so it was a really rough night but we went with what we had. Were really much better. So that just means you'll have to come back out. :) Thank you for the kind words. Glad you liked my dougie ;) told ya she was one with the magic! We completely sold out of shirts so I guess it wasn't that bad.... Thank you again for comming out!

I worked there at the time and it never even hit the sales floor. I think I paid $350 with my employee discount. I have D'Addario XLs on there, 45-125. It's all stock, but I have and 18-volt adapter inside so I can give the EMG-HZs a bit more juice. Hope you like it.

No worries. And if you did own one I wouldn't care. Greg Felise, an old friend of Stuart's and an endorsed Spector Artist picked up a Streamer Stage II with the neck LEDs for next to nothing and he sometimes gigs with it. The rest of the time he usually gigs with an old beat-up Fender P Bass.

He lives in NJ and does a lot of out-door gigs in the summer and he refuses to take his nice USA Spectors out in humid, sticky, hot weather. He says he'd rather mess up a non-Spector.

Greg's a good friend of mine so I give him grief and mess with him, but in all honestly I respect that he cares so much about his Spectors that he won't take them to gigs where they can get messed up. So it's all good.

Ok guys.....I have 3 choices....1) Ampeg SVT7 pro (15.5lbs $800) , 2) Ampeg Svt VR (85lbs,$1,300) or 3) Ampeg SVT4 pro (42lbs $850)......I have a local Ampeg 8/10 I can get for $400 to pair with it........HELP!!!!!

If it were me personally I would choose the 4 pro . It's very versatile and warm with the tube pre , less weight and money than the vr and no power tubes to deal with . I believe the 4 pro will sound incredible with the spectors !

It's on the brown truck right now.:hyper: Now off to work. This day is going to go slow. Bought what I think is a Legend 5 used from GC online for $300. I figured it would be the easiest way to try my 1st Spector. If it's not what I want or feel it's too thrashed I will just order a new Legend 5. Nobody seemed to carry the Legend 5's local. Waiting patiently..........Not!

I am leaning on that. Thanks Jarrod!...did you play through one yet?....I was originally thinking the VR but 85lbs????...I rather loose a little bit of sound but half the weight....I will have to start taking steroids if I want the VR,...haha
