If it were me, I'd go with the SVT VR. It's heavy as ****, but the tone of an all-tube Ampeg is to die for, especially with a Spector. I have a USA SVT CL...every day I wake up, I think, "Man, I can't believe I have such a nice amp.'
That being said, I don't gig very often, nor do I have to move it very often.
If I were you, the 4 Pro would be the one. From what I understand, you gig a lot. You'll already have enough weight to haul with the 810, and the 4 Pro does a really nice job of getting the all-tube tone with the Mosfet circuitry . Either way, its a win-win.

I had a 4 Pro paired with an old Eden 410xlt cab with my Euro 4....I love my Mesa, but I wish I still had the 4! It could do anything from warm and tubey to hi fi...plus a built in crossover if you wanted to go that route, and tons of connection options....not to mention power for days. I don't think you'd be disappointed, and that's a pretty good price. Is it SLM or Loud?

You grew up in Metropolis? Small world! I grew up just a couple hours from there in Patoka.

4 Pro with the 810 without hesitation!!! The monster tone!!! Never mind the weight, you're not going backpacking with it! :bassist::bassist:
It's a 3 space rack. I bought a 4 space and have a power conditioner there as well.
Endless amounts of tone so sculpt your Spector with my man!

honestly I played through a svt4 pro thru an 810 at GC for about 20 minutes and couldn't get a tone I liked..... if going the tube route I'd go all tube, if you can deal with the weight, that being said I've only ever played the SVT4 pro and not the others

but I do love seeing those fridges sell for $400!!!

What was it about the Geddy Lee that you liked over the rest? Was it the neck? From what i hear(I never played a Geddy,) a Geddy has one of the thinnest necks out there since it is shaved down from an already thin jazz bass neck. There are Spector's that have thinner necks like the Doug Wimbish Euro and the Legends have thinner necks from what i hear. I also tried a few NS-2A's that had really thin necks, way too thin for my meat fists :)

If it wasn't the neck you liked better, tone is where you will really get floored by these basses. You mentioned P/J clips played fingerstyle, look for any of the clips posted by Limaguy. He has posted tons of different clips comparing the tones of the different models and most of his basses are P/J config. I think the only one he owns that isn't is his Legend 6.

What is your price range? We can definitely suggest something for you but knowing what you want to spend might make it a bit easier. If P/J is the config you like, around $500 will get you a great NS-2A which you will be very happy with. Higher than that, you can't beat a used Euro.
