It's so odd for me to look at lefty instruments. We're so indoctrinated to think and "see" in a certain way that when something breaks that mold, it's so awkward.
But sexy nonetheless!!

Gonna try and breakthrough the Spector p0rn here.

Anyone here use the Tech 21 VT Bass pedal with a solid state amp? I have an Eden WT550 and I'm trying to dial in "THE" Ampeg sound with this pedal but when I use the suggested setting for SVT I just get a big boomy distorted mess. This is with the trim pot at 50% on my Euro and the bass tone control set to what should be flat (about 25% open).

I've tried in front of and behind my EBS MultiComp but nothing sounds that great. I've tried it without the comp in the mix either but still nothing great in terms of tone. The amp itself is set flat on EQ.

I've had this thing plugged direct into a mixer and haven't liked it any better there either. There are so many good reviews out there I can't believe I can't get a good tone out of this pedal unless I suck that much at tone shaping.

Any feedback is appreciated. I'm basically just looking for a slightly dirty and grindy sound through my Eden rig.

Ok, I'll bite: here's my NS2000/5. I purchased it in 1999 from Mars Music in Ft Lauderdale. It came in used; the previous owner had it for 6 months and didn't like it for whatever reason. I worked there at the time and it never even hit the sales floor. I think I paid $350 with my employee discount. I have D'Addario XLs on there, 45-125. It's all stock, but I have and 18-volt adapter inside so I can give the EMG-HZs a bit more juice. Hope you like it.

So, can I be part of the club now?

Not too sure about your Eden rig with the Tech 21 VT Bass pedal, but for me, in order to get some grind, I use the MXR M80 bass DI. It has a distortion setting that I blend in the gain at about 20% and it gives me a REALLY nice low end growl with plenty of dirt!!

Spector Forte 4 - YouTube at 20 seconds I engage the M80. I now use a bit more bass on the DI setting though...

Not in that clip. I use an Ashdown rig in this which has a VERY warm sound in comparison to an Ampeg.

I shot photos/video of Spector Endorsed Artist Christy Lichtenstein and her all-female Led Zeppelin Tribute Band last night in Malibu...
It was a killer show. And they rocked it. You know you've got to be good to step up to Plant, Page, Jones and Bonham.
They did an awesome set and Christy showed off her "Pitts" Spector. Her old Q5-Pro was recently refinished to match her high-performance airplane. When not rocking one of her USA NS-5XLs (she has two, both natural oil finish, one normal, one fretless) or her Euro5LX or her Pitts Spector, she's a high-performance aerobatic (professional) pilot.
How cool is that?

BTW: her Q5 has been gutted and has EMG DC pups and the Spector TonePump installed in it. It sounded pure Spector last night.

Well this bad boy should be on its way to me this week with a BEAD setup - 35" scale. It'll be Euro #3 for me. Next best thing to a Forte!

I found the tube overdrive channel on my TB-600 to be much more useful when I turned the trimpot on my Euro down from 50% to roughly 30%. That Tonepump is one powerful little box!

She's about 5'5" I'd guess. And what I like about her is that she's:
1) a classically trained musician who originally studied piano.
2) got a chill-very pleasant personality but is aggressive in that if someone tells her "girls can't do that" she's going to do it to prove them wrong. No one is going to define who she is but her. She's got a strong but very likable personality.
3) she's a pro. She looks at what needs to be done and she does it.

So no... she's the type of person who fought through any discomfort she might have felt in playing an extra-long scale instrument and she powered through it.

No offense to those of you who do feel that 35" scale basses are difficult or uncomfortable to play... this very cool lady isn't hearing it. She rocks with the best of them and has a blast doing it.
