Just got back from band rehearsal! Our band is playing in Big Rapids, Mi. tomorrow for the annual UMC Western Conference Bishops day. Our band was selected from the whole state! One of the best acoustic rooms that I've played in! Expecting 300+ in attendance.
Have fun gigging this weekend everyone!

Congrats!!!! Video please????

^ Awesome! Can't wait to see ya play live.

The Forte 4 sounded fantastic plugged into my B-15T at our gig today! Good thing I took it as they didn't have a house subWoofer. The place seats 500 with a big balcony that seats 250. They had no problem hearing the Forte. A different room than we've played in before. It was shaped like a horseshoe and the ceiling was domed. Acoustics was just about perfect! A great day! :bassist:

Awwww.....you deserve the compliment. So when's the next time we'll get to see CTS out live?

Ty :). Were looking to book a show with a friends band "damn son" before the end of the month, not sure if its gonna be at the haven or out in daytona. Things are kinda crazy with bike week going on. Gonna let me get some finger prints on that dingwall sometime?

I'll do you one better...

I'll bring it to the next late Friday night or anytime Saturday gig and you can take it on stage with you.

Not sure what to do here. I'm really wanting another bass at the moment, and would really like another Spector. I can't really find too much for sale in my price range that I'm very interested in (would like a nice colourful Euro 5LX) and have come across a nice MM Bongo 5 in the classifieds for a nice price. I always thought that I'd be a strictly Spector player since I got my Euro 5LX but I'm impatient and would really like to get a bass soon. I'd really love to try a Bongo locally but nobody has one that I could try out so I'd be buying it unseen. I also have this weird feeling that I'd still want another Spector anyway, but would really only want 2 basses.

The bongo might compliment your Spector nicely. It's a totally different animal , as as such would give you a different tonal pallet to chose from. If you do a lot of playing / recording in different styles or do covers that might be a good thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm a die hard Spector guy, but I do have other basses on the bucket list. There are different tools for different jobs that are just nice to have. Kubicki, Dingwall, Surine, and a peavey b quad are all on the bucket list lol.

But there will always be a Spector (or 3 or 5) in the stable though looking at the others like lunch.

Well speaking as someone selling a nice Bongo 5 right now, you should definitely get it! ;)

Seriously, Grendle is right - it's a totally different animal. Different scale, and the HS is not as aggressive sounding as the HH, which I found a little more similar to a Spector sound. I find the Bongo extremely easy and comfortable to play, and as a longtime EBMM owner I don't think I've found a better B on a 34" scale bass than these basses.

My Euro 5LX was my first ever 35" scale bass and it took me some time to get used to it, but now that I have I feel like I want to go "all in" with my Spectors and use those exclusively for a while.

One other thing to note and YMMV, but as a mostly pick player, I don't play fingerstyle a whole lot but when I do, for some reason I always found it easiest to do on the Bongos. I don't know if it's the different curve of the body where my forearm rests or what, but it just felt better than playing fingerstyle on my Stingrays or Carvins.

I was actually looking at a few of yours. I wasn't sure if I liked the idea of the HS configuration because I love the aggressive sound of the humbuckers so much. I still need to watch some videos and listen to some more sound clips of these basses in the mix and solo'd to hear what it can really do. I do have have to say though, that orange Bongo 5H would look great with my blue Euro 5LX.

Well FYI the black HH is gone so I just have the 5 HS left. I wouldn't call it a wallflower - it's just less aggressive than the HH.

That orange is nice - I almost traded my 5HH for a tangerine pearl 6HH but I need less basses, not more LOL.

Hey guys,

I have a couple of questions for you all. I just recently bought my first spector, its a Spector Rebop 4dlx. I love it. The people i bought it from actually won it on the price is right, the wife actually won it and played it twice for about 30 minutes, thats it. I got a good fair price on it and when i received it i checked it out top to bottom. I noticed something that scared me, it has about a 1 inch crack on the back of the bass. I have a picture i will post, but will this crack grow? Will it effect the way the bass plays, sounds? Can i fix it? Im going to email the seller and let them know, because i had no idea about the crack on it. Is there anyway i can fix the crack? What do you all recommend?

Thanks,
JM

That looks more like the woodgrain slightly seperated. By the electronic cavity right? Email PJ Rubal at; [email protected]. He should know what to do.
