Just wondering what everyone is using to keep their gloss finishes looking good. Thats really the only complaint I have about this bass. It gets so fingerprinted and gunky on the back of the neck I find that I have to give it a good wipe down everytime I take it out of the house. Not really a big deal, just kinda curious.

I bought a MM114 that i was going to try out in this, but now i am having second thoughts. I have the MM114 in my NS-2000/4, and i am actually thinking of putting another Tonepump in this one. I REALLY LOVE the tonepump. After A/B'ing it with my NS2a that has the Haz in it....i think i prefer the tonepump. I really looking forward to trying them both out with my new Ampeg rig as well though.:bassist:

you know, if I was 100% sure I was keeping my NS2A I would definitely put a tonepump in it. I have the mm114 now and I like it but I don't love it..

edit:I really want to keep it, it has great character, but might need to be sacrificed for another bass. :) I'm working on keeping it tho.

nah i just sold that one. it was the non-trim pot version. Ever since i bought the trim pot version and put it in my Euro i've been hooked. Its like a completely different pre compared to the non-trim pot version IMO. i'll probably be on the hunt for a trim pot version soon if i put one in the refinished CR4FM.

Looks great, You are doing Matte or Gloss Walnut?

While you got the bass at the shop. You may want to have the holes widened. The Euro holes are not always wide enough to accomodate the Pots of the MM114 if you end up going with that.

I'm thinking more and more about doing a matte finish. I was a bit worried about it looking shiny in spots with a matte finish, but i play bass SOOOOO much that the whole thing will be shiny in no time. After seeing it today i really thing it will look great with a matte finish. I really leaning towards that.

I'm about 95% sure i'm going to go with a TP preamp, so the hole widening probably won't happen. Unless i get really crazy and order a new Haz for it haha!:bassist:

I know right?! Yeah that was Jaymi. Great call. One thing I think we should do is have some sort of a "handle cheat sheet". It's cool because guys like grendle have their green bass as an avatar and I can put two and two together. But I don't know the real names of most.
