Just wondering what everyone is using to keep their gloss finishes looking good. Thats really the only complaint I have about this bass. It gets so fingerprinted and gunky on the back of the neck I find that I have to give it a good wipe down everytime I take it out of the house. Not really a big deal, just kinda curious.

I wipe mine down with a soft cotton cloth after each use, and once in a while I polish the whole thing with Dr. Duck's AxWax. It does a great job!

I know right?! Yeah that was Jaymi. Great call. One thing I think we should do is have some sort of a "handle cheat sheet". It's cool because guys like grendle have their green bass as an avatar and I can put two and two together. But I don't know the real names of most.

Dude, the flame on that bass is absolutely insane. Of all the fortes I've seen yours has my favorite flame by far! I said it in the Facebook group already, but congrats again Ice!

Thank you guys for all your congratulations! Man! I love love love this bass!!! It's the easiest, most comfortable, most beautiful tone, playing 5 string bass I've ever played by far! I find it easier to play than my Forte 4 even. The neck is thinner...reminds me of the NS-2A Kramer era I had's neck. The OBP3 With the EMG 40P5 40J sounds awesome!!! I played it for 2 1/2 hours tonight. Had to stop to get ready for bedtime soon. One more thing...I really like the GHS black Tapewounds a lot! They sound different than I thought they would. A good different! I get a mean growl out of all the strings without trying! Brought a big smile to my face!

Thanks cj! When I opened the bass case I was shocked by the flaming. I thought to myself, this is NAMM quality flaming! I feel lucky and fortunate to have this bass.

Thank you! I still can't believe the wood on this Forte 5. Just amazing!
I love the OBP3! With the couple hours of playing with it I couldn't believe the tonal range you can dial in! I'm thinking of ordering one for my Forte 4. Swap out the OBP2.
It has an awesome low and mid bite! More playing in a live gig will tell if it cuts thru the mix or not. I believe it will.

Okay, so I've completed the EMG 45DC+OBP-3 install in my bass. I couldn't get clips up yet because my stupid audiobox decided to fizz out on me. Now only one of the inputs work and there's super static on it when I record. Hopefully I'll have something else soon to upload some clips.

My first impression is that the DC's sound waaay better than the TWs. They're definitely brighter sounding, more aggressive pickups, and I like that. The TW's are great, just a bit too warm and mellow for me. The OBP-3 is everything we all know it is. You have to go really easy on the controls, especially the bass and treble!! I've actually been cutting my treble. I attribute some of the brightness to the all maple body and neck. I think I prefer the aggressive yet cleaner sound of the OBP-3 versus the Tonepump, but it's probably because of the kind of music I play.

Anyways, clips up soon hopefully, and I definitely recommend this upgrade.

Nice! I find with my new Forte 5 that so far I set the mids at 75%, treble center, bass 100%, pickups equal, vol 100%. With this settings I Really have to keep the volume on my amp turned down to about 1-1.5. While playing at home on my SVT 810e.
Thanks for the report update! I'm thinking with the music genre' that I play, the OBP3 is the way to go too. I'm loving it so far! Might swap out my Forte 4 OBP 2 for the 3 also.

Augh, finally got a tracking number for my Euro and it is not gonna get here until the 31!!!
Longest wait for a non-custom bass ever. bleh. Apparently it didn't even ship until a week after I bought it.

Oh wow! You've got to be kidding me?!?! That's a bit over the top for shipping. I wonder if he works away from home and has nobody to ship it for him??? Odd! I hope it all works out okay for you.
