What strings are ya'll using on your EURO5XLs? The B-string in the D'Addario Super Long 5-string set is too fat to fit in the saddle. I've been using Spector strings lately, but I've broken several. I play fulltime and need a string that last a bit longer but fits. I've used Ernie Balls on it before too with some luck.

LaBella Hard Rockin' Steels. I have NEVER broken one. I switched to these after breaking dozens of Rotosounds and Dean Markley Blue Steels.

Ended up paying around $1350 shipped on the eBay plus tuner for $70. I know it's a bit higher than the normal but I have no regrets!

Wow! No shame there! That is a stunning beaut!!! Congrats!

Hey Guys. I just received a text message from Sam Cerami(Limaguy) and unfortunately he is in the hospital and is going to be kept overnight so they can do a cardiac catheterization tomorrow. He had some irregular heartbeats today so he went to the doctor and they saw something in his EKG so they recommended he get checked out to make sure.

Sam is a really great guy and goes out of his way to help everyone so lets send some good thoughts over to him so everything goes ok. When I get more information, I will definitely share it with everyone.

Love the sound on this bad boy. I know some people aren't really high on them, but I love the tone pump and the EMG HZs. I don't play with other people in a live setting, so it's me, my iPad, my basses, and my amps. Mostly small practice amps as my wife and daughters don't like it when I go beyond my 40 watt. LOL

What's real nice is it's giving me more tonal range to work with when recording into GarageBand on my iPad using the basic amp heads it the software. Much more than my Warwicks do. I can see why people want to keep adding more Spectors -- I'm already GASing for a Euro 4LX. I've never owned a neck-through and I've only played a few for a few minutes each, so that's probably next on my list.... Some day.

Awesome! Yeah, I had a ReBop just before buying my first Neckthru...NS-2A! :D That only wetted my Spector neckthru whistle! Four neckthru's later...USA Forte 4&5! :bassist::bassist:

A little off subject...question...how are you recording into your GarageBand? Open mic from MacBook or...?
I'm a 6 years Apple convert myself. Just bought the new iPad with GarageBand. :) Thanks!

Sam is in my prayers .

Who is without question one of the nicest, coolest people I know...

Prayers for an uneventful cath tomorrow... Prayers that everything is OK and he'll be back home tomorrow with his family and friends...

And a special thanks for all that he does to make this forum a better place and for all that he does to make every Spector owner (even those who don't have Spectors) feel special.

Get better my friend and get back here where you are missed.

Thanks everyone, it really feels great to get so much prayers and support from everyone. :-) The first blood test came back neg for a heart attack. They will still be doing the cath tomorrow to be on the safe side. Crazy thing, I actually enjoy looking at the cath monitors when they do it. They even give you disc of it to take home. :-) This will be the 6th time. I will keep everyone updated. The ER has WiFi
