Pardon the rattle on the tuned down D string I usually don't play that hard and my action is set very low.

That first clip sounds really close to that Rex tone I posted before and the bass being used in this clip is a Geddy Lee Jazz so imagine how a Spector will sound?

Man, the first break I have from meetings tomorrow is noon so I am going to run right over to the music store then.

Hey John, I know I'm late to the conversation & I don't have any experience with the RBI, but I've been using the Tech 21 Landmark 300, which is kind like the RBI & RPM (more the Bass driver & Para driver) all in one with a power amp, for years now, & I still love it. I can dial in just about any tone I need. I run the RPM side the most, & use the RBI to get my grit. It can go from a very mild overdrive to a full on distortion no problem. I've used it for jazz gigs, singer/songwriter gigs, and it came in especially handy when I was touring with a solo instrumental shred guitarist that doubled in flamenco. I had to be the bass player & the rhythm guitarist all in one. Loved it with my 8 string too. I feel like the RBI will work nicely with your rig. I hope this helps.

And also, I was at the Giant Stadium Ozzfest, and that was the sickest pit I've ever been in. My friend was arrested that day for hopping the fence, and the troopers tuned him up real good. Really sucked for him. I gotta say I do miss Pantera.

I've wanted to get a Landmark 300 for awhile now. I'm glad you're liking it. Some folks in the amps forum complain about the 300 watts but I think it would be more than enough power for me! You wouldn't happen to have any soundclips would you?

I used the RBI for live dates through a bunch of Ampeg....It was fun..Now I have the BDDI and it does everything well in the places I work out of...it works REALLY well with passive basses so I have contemplated deactivating one of the Spectors back to passive to see what would happen

I just received on loan for a guitar show on Sunday two very rare Spectors, both from the Kramer era.

One, owned and used by Nikki Sixx in the early days, has an interesting graphic on it.

The other, a one off MTV painted NS-2A that was used by Dweezil Zappa on MTV when he had his show. It was more for show then play, this thing is immaculate.

I'll take some pix later and post 'em here.

I know it's hard to see , but that is a 68-73 ampeg square back 810 . Picked up last night at a great deal . Got one bad speaker . Question , where the heck can I get the clutch head screw bit ?

I do! B-15T portaflex Fliptop 100W for small-medium.
PF-500/SVT-810e for large-XLarge.

I haven't really had a problem with the 300W, but there have been times where I've wanted more. It can be run as a preamp with a separate power amp, which is something I've been thinking about, but all in all it is definitely a great amp.

Here is a studio recording of a band I used to play in. This is my NS-2 through my Landmark mixed with an 800rb as well, but mainly the Landmark.

Took my Forte 5 out for band practice with my band "Parallel 45" first time yesterday...plugged into a 215 rig...very very nice mix! Though I still prefer my 810 rig. But it was nice hearing Angel out of a boomy rig.

Messing around this morning with some new tones. I'm trying to get a cleaner bass sound and cut through some as well. Tried a Rectifier sound for the guitars. Hope you guys like it! Feedback is always welcome!

You have a Ampeg B-15T too? That was my first "quality" bass amp. I bought mine back in '89 or '90 I believe. It's still running strong and has never let me down! Often I run my GK400RBIV through the cabinet. It's a great little amp.

I like that! Funny you should mention the 800RB that's the other amp I've always wanted. Maybe I should try a BDDI into an 800RB?

Rig 1 ampeg straight back 810 and 800rb ( gotta buy one )

Rig 2 ampeg pr410hlf and yorkville 400b

Rig 3 swr redhead combo and ext cab ( gotta get a 210 or 115 )

Very nice tracks Sam! The Rex sounds like a hungry Wolf...big full dirty tone. I love it!!! The Forte 4 in comparison sounded dirty but a little thin...a bit more bass, back off the treble a pinch would sound more full, IMHO. Thanks for sharing Sam! You're awesome!!! We should nickname you WizardSam! You are a wizard at soundtracks and attachments! You ARE the man!

I have no idea how this "Samwise"...makes these diagrams...crap I have problems putting a recording on computer,haha....good job Sam!!

The heritage hunter tour? I gotta give it to ghost, even though I'm not a fan of the music (or the satanist thing, although I'm pretty sure that's just a tongue-in-cheek joke kinda thing), they put on a decent show. If I had one complaint, it's that te sound guys put the kick drum up way too loud during opeth and mastodons sets. Couldn't hear any bass!

You are right, the sound guy for Opeth had the kick drum way too loud, IMO. Very rarely could you hear the bass player. Plus, the kept him in the dark most of the time so you couldn't even watch what he was playing. Mastodon seemed to have everyone mixed right except the bass was very low. Ghost, on the other hand... Wow! That dude had a monstrous tone and it was loud. P Bass at its finest.

Not Spector amongst them. Lots of fenders and a Warwick Streamer with fretboard inlays. It did look like one at times. ;-)

If you were like me, wanting to hear older stuff you may have been a little disappointed in the set list. They saved that for the last two songs, but they were awesome.

Two Rare Spectors for y'all.

First one is an MTV NS-2A, commissioned by MTV and used in many promos on the channel in the early days. Dweezil Zappa adopted it and used it on his show and in most of his MTV promos as well.

Second shot is Nikki Sixx first Spector, used on the early tours. You'll enjoy the graphic.
