Since I am not in a band and don't play out, i have different rigs for different rooms......of my house :)

I nicknamed them Fat man and Little Boy.

Below is a link of a recording I did attempting to copy the Rex Tone.

Forte into Hartke VXL Tone Shaper Pedal Recorded direct into ProTools
clean track and dirty track mixed together and
lots of EQ during mix down.

First riff is Rex from the original isolated bass track that John posted
Second riff is me. :bassist:

Pardon the rattle on the tuned down D string I usually don't play that hard and my action is set very low.

How many of us here have and use multiple rigs for different scenarios ?

I have a Mesa Carbine M6 212 combo and a PH115 cab. I remove the M6 head from the combo and run it thru the 115 cab for rehearsal.
I haven't gigged with my current band yet, but my plan is to run the 115 parallel with the combo for gigs. I play metal, so all gigs are large, sound-wise.
I use a Cafe Walter HA-1A headphone amp when practicing at home.

Just to ask , but why no just use the combo for rehearsal ? Or is the 115 at the rehearsal location and combo at home ?

The combo is HEAVY. The PH115 is much more portable with stairs, too.
And, yes, I keep the 115 at the practice space and the combo at home. At 112 lbs., the combo will only travel to gigs.

I really loved the Hartke over the sansamp stuff... I just couldn't get over the plastic knobs... For studio it sounds great. Doesn't get as dirty as the sansamp stuff but I don't use much anywho.

Sounds great btw!

If anyone was curious of my setup of getting this tone here is a photo and description.
