So I'd been having some trouble with the B-string on my Rex, strung with Neons. I figured out it wasn't sitting right in the bridge and I needed to crimp the string. I went to my dad and asked him what tool would work best... He attempted to do it himself and this happened:
Needless to say, the string is useless.

I'll probably use the remaining 4 strings on one of my 4-strings.
On the positive side, now I have an excuse to get new strings. The Neons seemed to mellow out really quickly. What are some good recommendations for a growly, aggressive string with a tone that can be clear but also gets some deep bass, punchy, and growly and can keep that tone for a while. I'm thinking the new EBMM Cobalts, some other kind of DRs, or Circle Ks (balanced tension sounds interesting). Any thoughts?
