You should upload some comparison clips before and after the Tonepump + PJ mod! I've been wanting to do something similar with my Rex but haven't acquired sufficient funds to buy the pickups and preamp yet. I'd love to hear the difference between them, and how close the Rex with PJs and a Tonepump sounds to a USA or a Euro. Are you planning on wiring the Tonepump 18V as well?

I planned on doing some comparisons of the PJs with the tonepump and the PJs with the BT. I need to go to my buddies studio.. so I will probably switch out the pickups before I get over there....

I like the tonepump at 9v

Cool, it would definitely be interesting to see what a difference the preamp swap makes. I think the Rex sounds great with the HZs and the BT but it just lacks some of the signature Spector growl IMO. The Tonepump should fix that quickly! :bassist:

You should like it, its a cool rock bass for the kind of stuff we do. A little neck divey but a good strap fixes most of that. Mine wanted to be closer to 90 degrees rather than 45 but if ya rock it low it works pretty well. You sure it has the BT? Mine had the pump jr. Preferred the tone of it over my euro with the BT. The BT sounded great but the lack of Spector growl was noticeable.
