Custom euro or forte? Decisions decisions.......

Dougie neck is the big one.....

A Rex 5 might work also.....

I was thinking a peacock dougie with a haz actually.

I played an Ian hill the other day, didn't care for the neck at all.

I would have strongly recommend a Forte, but since you really dig the Dougie neck and didn't like the Ian Hill neck.
The Forte neck is going to be way off for you.

The Forte is wider across like the Std Euro & Ian Hill Neck but also much thicker front to back vs. the Dougie.

Unless they can do a Forte with Dougie neck profile which I am not sure can be done and PJ just went on vacation.

I called them yesterday to order the USA NS4 with the redwood top, & was informed that all of the NS4s listed were sold. Seems they don't update their "Sold" status on the website very often.
BUMMER!
And yes, I know I just bought an NS4 & don't really need 2 of them....

I think someone mentioned the Dougie Peacock was sold already a while back.

Basscentral is way off with updating their "Sold" basses on their site

It will be nice when their new site is released.

Never feel bad for ordering another USA Spector, you never can have enough. Did you consider a NS-2 or you just a NS-4 guy?

Here's a cover of Freddie Washington's bass line on Forget Me Nots by Patrice Rushen. NS-2A, flat EQ, P pickup soloed, into Apogee Jam, into iPhone Garageband. Used the 'Clean' amp with a little mid-scoop and slight compression. Then looped it in Audacity. I think it came out a little distorted.

Still, not bad for 30 mins work, lol.

Agreed, with the neck-through construction and solid maple wings the Rex is really an amazing value for the money.

You need another custom Euro (white, plum, peacock or burl, maybe Wimbish or Hill model) with a Haz pre.
Nothing against the Forte, it's just that satin black & no inlay = very plain Jane, especially compared to your beautiful Greenie.

Same here, I try forcing my self to like one...but no Inlays, Is like Peanut Butter without Jelly. Might as well pay another $2k and get the inlays/Haz/and Color of choice..hehe

Yeah, I didn't play it yet. They sold the dougie, but still have the other one. They have some in the back too that aren't on the site. That 2 tone one is a little fugly but might bw cool because its unique.

I'll let you know how the upgrades go with my Rex... In my opinion the Rex is the current day NS2A... I'm thinking a decked out Rex can easily compete with a euro tonally

Funny thing is I didn't dislike the forte neck. It's wider but comfy. I don't care for the feel of the finish though. That dougie neck just disapears in your hand though. It's my favorite neck profile of any bass I have played, which is probably in the thousands.

I actually would prefer an NS2 - I just really liked the redwood top on that particular NS4.
If I end up going custom, I'll most likely order an NS2 in either burled walnut or trans. red quilted maple, with an ebony fingerboard & Haz pre.

Bass pot for Spector TonePump, I can see it's a 10K/C pot on the Spector site. What is the /C designation referring to? My Rebop needs a replacement. The TonePump in mine is a non-trim model as well, if that makes any difference.
