SPECTOR® Club - Part 36

Jaymi - here's the clip. There are a couple of long pauses (synth breaks in the song).
Like I mentioned, I went direct out from my M6 Carbine head into CakeWalk. It sounds OK, not great. Plus, it's just me isolated, playing the bassline from one of the band's songs, so there's not a lot of context. You'll get an idea of the AW sound, though. It just rocks - I am so happy I bought it!

Well I know ice wasn't sold on the gk 1001rb and ampeg fridge combo, but I'm loving it! I do prefer the 700rb since I can drive it harder. But man it hits hard. Then again I play pretty aggressive. I go get my 700rb from the repair shop tomorrow. It's nice to have two sweet amps in my aresenal. I need to get to husky status with my amp collection and Lima status with my basses.

I'm impressed alright with the GK-1001rb but it's only 750Watts...I want 1200+ filling and pushing my Fridges 810's. Haha! I'll have the GK-1001rb around for 2 weeks to play around with yet. I'll try and not only bring down da house, but da neighborhood!:bassist::bassist::bassist:

Someone here has Dave larue's old Spector with a kahler. They call it the "tone sucker" and I don't think they were all to impressed with it. Still cool though.

I have LaRue's old NS-2, and I love the bass! "Tone suck" was what Stuart called it when we talked about it. If you ever saw Dave's instructional video, the bass sounds great! I was really surprised at how much low end it had. I figured it would be missing some with all that wood carved out, but not really. I have 105s on it as opposed to 95s (I believe) that Dave uses, so that probably helps. I don't really use the tremolo all that much though, it looks cool though and fun to bend. Probably would have used it more when I was touring with my friend's instrumental shred/ flamenco solo project. Unfortunately I didn't have it then.

Here's a link to a song I recorded with it. This ain't metal. HAHAHA!!! But I'm sure you guys will appreciate it. The phasing is a little messed up, but you can hear it.
