Well I know ice wasn't sold on the gk 1001rb and ampeg fridge combo, but I'm loving it! I do prefer the 700rb since I can drive it harder. But man it hits hard. Then again I play pretty aggressive. I go get my 700rb from the repair shop tomorrow. It's nice to have two sweet amps in my aresenal. I need to get to husky status with my amp collection and Lima status with my basses.

Seriously, I hear ya on the 700 vs. 1001. It's just a tad harder to get that grit out of the 1001 because you'll be killing cats at a 100 yards (not that it's a bad thing). I think once you get your 700 back and put it on top of the fridge you're gonna gets those goosebumps again. The 700 is just such a perfect GK. Almost as good as the 800RB.

Ampeg SVT-III PRO (oldest model, early 90s) through an Ampeg SVT-212E. Both vintage and made in USA!
But I'm kinda GASing for GK with all this talk about it!

I tell you what though, my Euro through my Aguilar rig sounds AWESOME! Clean and warm, and it brings out the Spector's growl REALLY well!

Spector > x2.wireless > gk 700rbii or 1001rbii (tuner is ran from tuner out on the amp) > ampeg svt classic 810

Mine get played through a 700 watt Phil Jones M-500 head, driving two dozen 5" speakers in 8T & 16B Phil Jones cabs. It sounds incredible & it gut-punches like Rocky Balboa.
The SWR Headlite drives a 15" JBL in a Sonic cab for my Moog Taurus 3 bass pedals, and the SWR Baby Blue combo is used as a monitor for my nearly deaf drummer.

Awesome - just remember to put up guard rails. That's an 8 x 10 and I'm scared of heights.

Actually, I'm not sure I'd want it since it has the wide string spacing. I have grown accustomed to 17MM spacings and the 19MM feel WAY to far a part!

I think this might be the bass that was at the Atlanta Bass Gallery for so long.

I've played that rig a few times and its pretty good. The 700rb can get some dirt. Never messed with it long enough to really dial it in though. I'm just stuck on the svt 2. Think I'm gonna buy a spare in case mine ever dies. It's different than the other ampeg gear I have played.
