SPECTOR® Club - Part 36

All you Spector gurus. I have a Legend 5 with a haz copy pre. I'm diggin the whole Spector vibe. I'm looking at picking up a used 4 banger. I really dug the sound of Jaymis red NS2A but didn't have the funds in time to pick it up. My question, can the newer Legend 4's cop that tone? I'm looking at a few on ebay right now. I hoping to be around $500 bones...

Thanks,:bassist:

Save up. The new legends don't pull off that tone IMO. Ns2a's come up every once and a while, so just keep an eye out.

Guitar Center Used has what appears to be a nice NS-2A for $474.99

This bass has a sad story. PM Sam or I for the scoop. Out of respect for the people who got me the info, I won't put it out in a public venue. But talk to one of us before you decide you can't live without it.

Unfortunately to get the level of spector i want i need to move a few things first. the wife would kill me if i bring in something new.....here's why....6 cabs......five heads.....a combo....seven or eight basses.....and guitard stuff.....plus a small club pa....lol

good choice!

With pink tolex no doubt.

bwahahaha!

He may have one soon homie:ninja: lol

he needs to move some stuff first ;)

i put that tonepump in mine and today at rehersal, it sure was nasty. ;)

Yep. It has happened. I'm ready for Spector number 2! :D

If anyone has one they're considering selling then please let me know! Maybe this time I'll be interested in a Forte. Let's just hope my Gibson V and LMIII sell so I can get some more money for one :bassist:

How does that Czech Haz compare to the TonePump?

That's a tough question. The Czech Haz is rare.

Not sure how many people have a direct comparison.

Phat, JPS, Grendle?

But it sounds very growly and impressive in the clip Wilson posted. :bassist:

The same person who made the Czech Haz eventually started making the Tonepump.

Interesting. I wonder if it's closer to the TP or US Haz as far as tone is concerned.

Now that I have pretty much finished my NS4 CRFM I have compared it to my Wimbish. (I'm waiting on 2 Vol knobs and I chipped the front after putting the preamp, which I now have to fix :rollno: )

The NS4 is heavier and slightly shorter in length (not scale) than the Wimbish. The NS4 weighs 9lbs and the Wimbish weighs 7.9lbs.

The neck on the Wimbish has the 1.5" width at the nut and is chunkier and the NS4 is wider and slimmer.

I have put an Aguilar OBP3 in the NS4 and I prefer it to the tone pump in the Wimbish. It sounds amazing.

At the moment I prefer playing the NS4 to the Doug Wimbish model. However, I do prefer the narrower neck on the Doug Wimbish model. That's the main reason I bought it.

I'm surprised that the NS4, which cost me $250 before I painted it and adding the preamp would be so good.
