Also, I got my legend 6 back today. They said that the saddles were bottomed out and the action is still a bit higher than I would like (the action on my legend 5 is perfect). It would be fine if I was just fingering and slapping, but I like to tap too, and the actions just a hair too high for me to do it easily. They said they'd have to machine down the saddles or something to get it any lower :eek: . Anyone have any insight into this? I'm really digging the bass and I'm hoping that working the bridge doesn't screw anything up.

Post a photo of the bridge of the Legend 6 and Legend 5 and the nut of both of them also.

If you look at the height on how the strings come off the nut.

Do they come off the nut about the same on both basses or is one much higher then the other?

A buddy of mine stopped by after work today with two arms full of bass gear! A GK-450, GK-1001rb and a couple of "Frankin Basses". And he left me with the GK-1001rb for a couple of weeks to play with, on my Fridge. :D My Forte 5 sounds ginormous thru it! Still want something bigger though...thinking Carvin 1500 next. :bassist:

So looking at some used 4 string Spectors in the $500 price range. Either a NS2A ot Legend 4. What's everyones feeling on dual coil pick-ups vs a P/J set-up? My Legend 5 has DC with a MM haz copy pre. It sounds pretty damn good to me. Will the P/J sound more aggressive? More flexible? Just wondering the tonal difference as I don't have a chance to play before buying.

My GK 2001RBP will be here tomorrow. I'll be running it through my Carvin HD1500 power amp. Same power section as the BX1500. Hopefully I'll get the best of both worlds.:bassist:

Not to be blasphemous, but is it unheard of to use a simple shim on a bolt-on neck Spector?

Assuming the neck relief is properly set, the nut slots are the proper depth, and the saddles are truly bottomed... you could also just file the bottom of the offending saddles to lower just those strings.

EBMM sells many $2000 basses that come with a factory installed neck shim. Ask me how I know:hmm:

I can fulfill your desire for a B1500 as I have two, if the guy locally doesnt buy it this weekend..........but you already know that I think! :hiding:
